Keep in mind BG, this is the "replica" prop forum. This screen used section is not used too much here.

Nah, it's just that Star Wars is not as active a topic as it once was. Make no mistake, I am VERY interested in seeing more. Others will be as well.

Disagree, especially as regards the MPF. Although this is indeed the Replica Prop Forum, the screenused subforum here sees far more traffic and its members are far more open and helpful, particularly for entry and midlevel screenused prop collectors. The MPF has a deeply ingrained attitude of elitism that I find rather off-putting.

I would disagree with this as well. The RPF (for better or worse) will always be "the RPF" and while the name is limiting, the content and broad focus is not. Replicas are the main focus here and are always likely to be the main focus but outside of www.yourprops.com, you are unlikely to find any other site that will get a fraction of the traffic that even our screen used forum gets (which is one of our newest and smallest forums, but is growing). The Movie Prop Forum is a great site for screen used collectors to congregate and discuss such items, but 1) it is a private site and 2) the traffic is pretty limited. Still, couldn't hurt to post it up there!

As rkpetersen pointed out, we implemented a screen used forum not to compete with the Movie Prop Forum but to be a bit of a bridge that was more accessible to the public, to those who have a passing interest in seeing screen used pieces and to "entry and midlevel screenused prop collectors." We even hope that it will appeal to the hardcore screed used collectors who don't mind sharing their collections publicly, while sites like the MPF and OPC provide a private venue for screen used collectors to discuss their hobby.

I've been waiting on you to reply to this...hahaha
Took longer than I thought.

I agree with all points above, I just haven't rattled your cage in a long time.

Wouldn't miss it for the world, bud. :lol

And here I thought your cage rattlin' days were behind you... ;)

No worries on my part. :thumbsup

Just another opportunity to explain to the masses what we are trying to do with the site.

Seriously though, I have to agree MPF is more catered to the elite, which in turn has helped me learn some stuff. But for the casual SU stuff, I like what goes on here. Plus you have Ketzer and other big dogs around here for the major help.

Agreed. Probably totally sounds like I am kissing up, but I was pretty tickled when David Oliver showed up as some of his pieces have had me green with envy for YEARS!
