Hi everyone,

Some of this is already known and scattered throughout threads, so I thought this was useful.

There are 3, maybe 4 types of “mesh” used in Empire Strikes Back at least, if not in all three films:

1) alternating slot mesh, slot sides only overlap 1/4 of the one above

2) interrupted mesh, tight weave that stutters into a loose mesh for a row.

3) Slot mesh in columns, very similar to #1 with slightly wider slots

4) Vader chin? Does the Diamond latticework in the Vader chin vent come from a source?

I recently found a second source for #1. Originally a specific UK Philips radio was the only exact source we could find in the wild.

There is a “close” version, a silver tone radio but the pattern isn’t quite right. Silvertone on the left, correct on right

I want to add pictures of prop and costume sources to this first post, so please, Vader experts and prop experts, let’s document this.

Unfortunately don't have any pictures to add but this thread will be very useful for a lot of the builds that use these meshes! Great idea to start this Tom!
