I think they're setting him up for something big.
I like how I immediately didn't like this character at first, and now I can't wait to see more of him. I like how they're laying his foundation.
Ha! Same here. I spent so much time just walking around in Dark Forces. I loved being able to interactively explore something from the SW Universe.

This should be on the poster. That’s all the endorsement one needs to get excited about SW again.
I believe at this time, stromtroopers don't even exist just yet. The Empire continued using the clone army in the early years before fading them out in favor of conscripts, as we saw in The Bad Batch. I've been waiting for the moment we see a garrison of clones on Ferrix as we saw in the trailer...tbh I'm more excited to see proper live action clones than stormtroopers!
After Ep5 I was thinking how it's interesting the soldiers we've seen so far are just normal Imperial dudes in uniforms and maybe some AT-ST driver type armor. Even if the Empire is still using clones, it appears they're not nearly as prevalent as they were during the Clone Wars, almost like they're fewer numbers of them and are reserved exclusively for more serious matters. It's quite the departure from what we normally see, with stormtroopers everywhere, fully suited up in armor even when stationed as just base security. In any other Star Wars project, all the guys in the base loading the train that Lieutenant Gorn converses with would be stormtroopers haha.

I agree that they're building him, slowly very slowly.
I'm hoping to see more a bit more emotion from him, a bit more struggle to keep it together. Just moments really, something behind the eyes, fleeting expressions. Blank staring with minimal dialogue although realistic as a response trauma/stress conveys ambiguity on screen. He could be really upset inside or be indifferent. They're likely going for the former given the context but as a method of acting I've never been a fan of the silent blank stare , especially to convey anger.
Very true perhaps a little more faith and patience that they're going somewhere with him is in order. This season is only a third of the way through and there's a lot more time to develop. You're entirely right that any of those outcomes are possible.

The way the show has used TIE Fighter so far make me think that proto-Stormtrooper clone troopers will have a much more palpable sense of threat and menace when they finally arrive. The TIEs we've seen on Aldhani are already much more menacing, the way they feel larger used against a human-scale landscape, and the way the engine scream has really been dialed up.

When I think about how much that was in the trailer we haven't seen yet - Death Troopers, Clone Troopers, Star Destroyers, an Imperial prison, riots, Saw Gerrera, Partisan forces X-wings, the Senate, the Imperial bases surrounded by water, the Arrestor Imperial cruiser, possibly lower levels of Coruscant - I get pretty excited. Like Luthen said - it'll be all over...or just beginning; we all know which one it is
I'm so excited by this show, and Season 2. Sad that we don't get the original plan of 5 seasons, but that probably would have taken 10 years to finish, so...

While I agree with the delivery of top-noch performances I'm totally blown away by the sets, locations and photography. This show definitely costs some big bucks.

Nope, and it's better for it. It's nice, in my opinion, to actually get something Star Wars that doesn't involve Jedi, the Force, Vader, or the Emperor.

Getting sort of back on topic here. Can we talk about how the Imperials seem to use British military drill? They swing their arms out pretty far when marching and they do that stomping thing the Brits do when they come to a stop. I wonder if 501st garrisons are going to start trying to source British drill manuals and watch videos of British troops marching to learn how to march like proper Imps now.

I give more credit to Andor being a smart production with clear ideas of what it is trying to accomplish. A cohesive vision is baked into the very bones of the production from the writing to the design and acting.
If it were as simple as throwing money at a project then Rings of Power would have been the best thing on television.

That is true. It is a combination of various aspects of production, like orchestration on the board. If all pieces fall into place to form a cohesive whole you create something great. As of now I would say no cent has been wasted, everything was used in a VERY efficient way.

I may remember one of the Imperials talking about "upper management" which may refer to the Emperor but I'll need to rewatch that scene.

I think that the operation to steal the payroll will be action driven to the max! It's a very good and slow pace to establish the characters getting to know each other (or not) in that small group. They have intel on the inside (good) but I believe that the "Getting to the money and taking off in that space ship" will show more of what action and suspense is all about. I hope the fight scenes will be memorable

It's as if they put together a single 8 hour movie and then just stuck hard cuts in every 40 minutes to call them episodes. The episodes don't have ends as much as they simply end.
I have to say i like how different it is, but at the same time everything that's SW has been so similar that it keeps sticking out to me how different this is which, in and of itself, bothers me
Maybe i missed it, but i didn't see the holocrons brought up for this weeks episode. Havng a full scale sith holocron on my desk, it jumped right out at me
