David Zappone is working on a documentary to celebrate the 25th Anniversary starting with filming on the upcoming cruise.
If enough people buy the documentary when it is released, it could show the CBS suits that there is enough financial incentive to future proof the show with an HD remaster.

Heard of it. Hopefully it will be at least as good as What We Left Behind.
If CBS had cared then they would have done it years ago. They haven't even tried to crowdfund the project(or part of it).

Future proofing is pretty essential to streaming the shows in the future.

The same tactic was tried with DS-9, Paramount is not budging on both shows.

It will never happen untill the technology gets cheaper from what I have been told
