Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I think that the longer run time is killing it. Too much fluff over content.

Did we really need to see John going to sickbay 3 or 4 times?

Did we NEED that much Kaylon backstory?

And suddenly the crew are all cussing when they haven’t before? I know that they can now, but I’ve never watched an episode in the first two seasons and said, “I would sure like to see them cuss!”

Unfortunately, they're making the show for a younger audience who uses 4-letter words like they're going out of style. So long as they keep it off of the bridge, I don't especially mind. They at least recognize military decorum, unlike some other shows I could mention.

That’s what turned me off about the first season of Picard—all the F-bombs. Star Trek has always been family-friendly entertainment, till this current crop of hacks took it over.

I would probably have enjoyed the rumored Tarantino Trek, as a novelty. But turning Trek into that permanently is off-putting. Not to mention making Tarantino’s version moot.

It seems Trek now lacks something that it had in the past-

professionalism.

Yup...pretty much. Starfleet's finest starship commander is Fire Marshall Bill.

I can never decide if Ortegas or La'an is the worst character in Trek history. But that's the great thing about the franchise--there's always so many bad characters to choose from. :p

Probably Ortegas. La'an may be stolen character, but at least she's stolen from a really great character...

At least she's easy on the eyes unlike Lt. Haircut.
