In fairness, that ain’t hard to do. I deleted my account a long time ago. That place is a cesspool. She can have it.Ortegas puts the Twit in Twitter…
Actually one who "drives" a boat or ship is a pilot, it's where the word originated.1) The helmsman of a capitol military vessel is not a "pilot", but a helmsman. Terminology matters. A pilot might act like that off-duty, but a helmsman is not going to behave that way on-duty.
While that may be true, the confusion that would cause aboard an aircraft carrier would be immense. Also, I believe "pilot" is in reference to submarine helmsmen and smaller craft.Actually one who "drives" a boat or ship is a pilot, it's where the word originated.

You know, that also applies to artwork people don't like, models people don't like, posts people don't like, music people don't like, food people don't like, etc. It really does have broader applications throughout life, so thanks for pointing that out!71 pages, and a heck of a lot of complaining. If you don't like it..have you thought of just not watching? surely there has to be something better to do than moaning online about how the new show isnt as good as the one from your childhood?
Personally...loved SNW, loved Discovery...Lower Decks?...damn funny and amazing. Loving the way Trek is going!
That she can. I have no use for twitter either. In fairness, that ain’t hard to do. I deleted my account a long time ago. That place is a cesspool. She can have it.
People who can’t defend their preferences from criticism always resort to attacking the critics. It’s a deflection, it’s transparent, and it’s tiresome. Just like that tweet from the Ortegas chick above—vague, insubstantial “cool things” about Ortegas, then an attack on the critics. And the “toxic fandom” garbage from Amazon and Disney. Happens in politics all the time. You know, that also applies to artwork people don't like, models people don't like, posts people don't like, music people don't like, food people don't like, etc. It really does have broader applications throughout life, so thanks for pointing that out!![]()
Nah, regardless of what happens to her, I really think they were stuck for a cliffhanger, so they cribbed it from Lower Dorks. That’s what lazy, no-talent hacks do. They throw out canon so they don’t have to overcome the creative challenges of working within it, and they just steal stuff—not to serve up a new interpretation or a fresh take, but because they’re incapable of creating anything new. Then they attack you for pointing out that they’ve broken canon for no good reason in ways that make no sense. Nice work if you can get it, I guess. To another note concerning the season finale of SNH:I wonder if Rebecca Romjin is leaving the show? Either that, or this is why Number One isn't round during Kirk's time?

Well, last time I checked, we are ALL “customers” of the product they are serving up.

And we see that in SNH- what to think instead of how to think fails when it comes to decision making: what happens when what you're thinking does not fit the situation, and the situation cannot be molded to suit what you're thinking?People who can’t defend their preferences from criticism always resort to attacking the critics. Public education has failed at least two consecutive generations now, by teaching them what to think, instead of how to think. So they can’t spot BS when it’s handed to them, they’re easily defrauded because they’re economically illiterate, they elect incompetent morons because they have no education in civics, and they watch—end enjoy—garbage like Strange New Hair because they have no idea what a good story is. It’s all just eye candy and ’member berries, and they just eat it up.

gatekeeper? sure. Thanks for proving so many points.
Funny how the actual gatekeepers are the ones accusing everyone else of gatekeeping.
"If you don't like it, don't watch it!"
How about, "No, these hacks and weirdos need to get their hands off of these franchises which actually mean something to people."
Ignored.

Lol hopefully it doesn't go on for 70+ pages....And this post complaining about us is different than ours complaining about the show….how?
Okay, fair point. The people whose job it is to steer and navigate ships throught the Mississippi river (incuding the massive container ships) are called pilots.
It contains 65% recycled post-consumer products? And this post complaining about us is different than ours complaining about the show….how?
That’s still 25% LESS than the recycled Star Trek content from SNH.Okay, fair point.

And THIS repeated post makes up 40 of those 71 pages.Best find somewhere else to talk about it if you do like the show. The incessant complaining isn't going to stop, and pointing out how paper thin it is just means they block you so they can live in their echo chamber.
In current maritime usage, pilot is a specific term of art for highly specialized port personnel who come aboard a ship for the specific purpose of taking the helm and steering the ship into port safely. Here’s a précis from the ports in Maryland. Outside of the specific context of navigating a vessel into port, the person who mans a ship’s helm is a helmsman. And on Star Trek, Sulu was always referred to as “helmsman” or just “helm.”The people whose job it is to steer and navigate ships throught the Mississippi river (incuding the massive container ships) are called pilots.
