I Over-all have no problem with the series. I am hoping for a Pike 1701 series. He manages to mix the Paternalism of Bruce Greenwood's Pike, and the Sternness (When needed) of Geoffrey Hunter's Pike, and makes it his own. I Laugh when i think there was a time when there was plenty of Trek, and Star Wars except for the EU was dead. Then there was plenty of SW (And the hardcore fans bitched about it) and Trek was dead. Now we have plenty of both and people on both sides are bitching. I Just treat it all as decent Sci-Fi and don't let it stress me out, life as I have learned this past year, is too short.

kalkamel, thank you for that. I do recommend watching the whole thing, folks. It's about the most concise front-to-back breakdown of what's going on and why. I knew most of that, except for some of the most recent. But I need to message him to make one significant correction. Enterprise was Discovery before Discovery -- a series purporting to be a direct prequel to TOS, but wasn't because it didn't fit in any way, shape, or form. I know some on here disagree with my argument, but I stand by my position and feel the data are on my side. ;)

I really hope the reunification goes through and that there's a moratorium on new Trek until they can ******* figure out that whole continuity thing. Im still pissed at Braga for dismissing the importance of continuity in a fictional setting, all the way back to TNG days.

I'm getting tired of waiting for Spock. Every commercial shows Spock in it, yet 4 episodes in (next week they are "Saving Private Tilly) so no Spock yet! Bring him on already for crying out loud. We've already had a "Search for Spock" decades ago for crying out loud!

I thought the latest episode was quite good actually, compared to last week's Klingon-centric one. It had a very TNG-vibe and Doug Jones is a magnificent actor when given the right script.

Anyone else wonder if Burnham pocketed that fallen ganglia for soup later? :p

Because of this TNG vibe I didn't like it. It was a typical Star Trek episode with things that got done and done again in ST. DSC is going the way every ST went. Just repeating things and lots of techno babble. The first season was not great but compared to all first seasons of every ST show it was pure quality. Like season 3 and 4 of ENT. Now they go way back.

There is a certain bland, uncharismatic, and flat performance by actors in most (look, I said “most”) “Star Trek” fan films that makes it absolutely clear why the casting in all the Trek series and movies is so excellent...

...that is until now with the arrival of this actress and character:

Is she really reading her lines off of cue cards? She sounds like a junior high school kid delivering their first speech in speech class, complete with a monotone delivery and run-on cadence as they quickly read directly from their notecards.

Just terrible.

It is getting to point where I can no longer watch this show, just for the production value. It is honestly, objectively, terrible storytelling with truly unlikeable characters.

I believe that it’s not so much her delivery, as it is who her character is supposed to be. Her character is supposed to be a non-concerned, uninspired, don’t care what you think about me type of personality.

Another stupid, filler episode. I don’t care about any of the characters at all! And yesterday‘s episode was another O look, we found Spock, oh, no we didn’t, we don’t know where he is after all. I just realized, I don’t care where Spock is or what he’s doing. I’m out!

Oh my God !!!! They killed Tilly!!!!!

Sadly, no they didn't, but we can always live in hope. Instead we get more of the Tilly and May show, the most annoying pair up of two characters in sci fi ever (I pinkie swear !!!).

Still Spockless, Section 31 employs the two most dangerous enemies to the Federation (me thinks thats going to end in tears), though I did like the stealth starships appearance.

Far too much hugging and emoting in general again, its become like the New Doctor Who, a soap drama all the time, its all about the over the top emotional relationships rather than a good sci fi concept based story.

Its becoming very boring, particularly when you know its all going to be a happy ending again and again and again.

And the speeches!!! The endless speeches!

I am so sick of Burnhams voice.

Phrase of the week has got to be "We won't survive complications" (though it was almost beatten by Micheals "Only doodee remains".

To true, to true.

After the crap of season 1 I cancelled my All Abscess subscription and was going to wait until season 2 was done and pay for one month and binge watch it but after hearing what people are saying I don't know if I'm going to waste even $10 on this.
