Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project.

:lol:lol:lol:lol

I'm sure many others are looking forward to your progress!

I'll have to hold off....Shapeways shorted me a shooter face. :cry

Now to figure out if they gave me the left face or the right....should the green fluid indicators be on the right or the left of the shooter? Looks to me like in previous pics it goes on the pinky side of the hand.

...If that's the case than from the numbers on the bag it looks like they gave me the left face in a bag with the right face part number! :facepalm

all parts should be identical except the 'blue' inner bezel/led holder....no?

and I think the fluid indicators (leds) go on the bottom? toward your body?.. with the nozzle/sprayer going toward the hand...

This is fantastic... I saw the use of a printed circuit pad... anyone making those or know where to get them?

Where did you see this? link/pic?

"I" am currently working on an Arduino/pcb for this prop.. but would like to see what else is out there?

thanks

oh.. you mean the "FPC" (Flexible Printed Circuit) cable for the two wrist/palm buttons?

The guy you linked to the vid, and posted in this thread also made a JY post for these.. but from what I recall.. they werent cheap..

MOD EDIT: Please do not post Junkyard links outside of the Junkyard.

Just having a hard time nailing down the 'posts' positions/placement..etc..

importing/using the .dxf file didnt work..etc (I mean they imported..but they were all crappy looking paths.. not what is 'really' there in the model)

* so any help with those would help..(posts)
* if you could check my overall 'length' I posted in the images above.. against the real model to ensure Im correct? (going to fit)
* and what is the 'depth' of the BOTTOM piece? the piece most of you are drilling to put leds/batteries in?
(its like an upside down dish/pan)

I need to know how 'deep' it is.. so I can account for how much room is left after the SD socket is seated down into it.. from a square hole on top..etc.. (I'll post some pics on my approach in case someone has better idea or sees flaw)

oh.. I never plan to wear a Spider-man suit either myself.... this is PURELY the 'watch' type prop for me.. (probably laser cut a plaque/stand and leave it be)

which is why I was exploring possible hiding a 'flat' li-po battery pack in the leather band? or maybe a small cell phone speaker? (I have one I am going to test with along with some other flat, crappy, hobby/toy speakers too)

ok..here is the 'stack' (so to speak)

ASM_pcb2.jpg

Im 'close' to nailing down the post placement.. so I can either adjust the SD card.. 'or' come to realize we might to need trim the post 'holes' a bit (on the bottom piece..when cutting the square hole out to fit the SD card) upon install too..

looking at the height requirements/restrictions....if we keep the thick bingo chip.. we might need to opt for the thinnest pcb they make (0.4mm).. which is an extra $25.00.. so like an extra $2.50 per 'kit' right there)..blank pcbs are already going t be like $2.00 each without shipping.. I just want to be open about the 'COSTS' (no mark-up).. so everyone can make the best decision for themselves..etc..

I think the CHIP itself it the most expensive SINGLE item on the board.. with the uSD sockets being second..(its close to the cost of a bare PCB)

thanks for helping finalize this stuff ES..

I'll even 'assemble' your kit for you!..if we ever get this bad boy done! lol (unless you have a stencil and solder paste, re-flow oven..etc) and wanna do it yourself?) :)

edit:

heck.. I just ordered a set (1 side for).. was hoping it would be easier.. and work on the electronics side BEFORE ordering.. in case I needed a model mod..etc.. but it'll be easier to work on this once I have one in hand.. can print things out.. test on paper.. ensure alignment..etc..etc..

Arduino w/o Audio is 100% possible..

Ardiuno w/ Audio 'might' still be possibly once we get some final measurements.. and brainstorm on speaker/battery stuff still.. (and see how much room we got 'under the hood' of the floor/base piece that the led/chip bezel snaps into..)

here we go: http://www.therpf.com/f13/spiderman-web-shooter-fpc-2-finger-switch-158059/

Yea I saw that... The Run ended :unsure

I am just trying to find a way to add some LED realism to these once I start them.

Figured it lighting up every time I hit it would be pretty nice

Well if you want to go with a simple direct circuit.. that shouldnt be any sort of problem??

just some wire..

battery solution of your choice..

(switches of your choice for your palm)..

some leds..

and a resistor to match the battery choice and vF (forward voltage) of the leds you choose.

I think there are simple diagrams posted in this thread too..

(that being said.. if after I finish up these PCB for it.. if no solution is found for cheap.. I can help design/look for replacement for this as well)

tick-tock--

Exciting update! We're in the midst of creating your order!
-Shapeways

How long does it usually take to print? ship?

No, his order that he placed with shapeways is being printed. No new shooter being made. xl97 is in the midst of creating an electronics package for the shooters. :love:thumbsup

So I got my web shooter peices in check em out!!!

The last two photos are the stainless steel bezel which might be a little too small for my liking but i wont know for sure until i get my watches that are being held by my wife for christmas. I know that the web cartridge is way....way to small esp. since I want to put batteries in them.

havent people been using button/coin cells in the 'bottom' of the floor piece?

I dont see the bottom floor or the top 'cover' piece? didnt order them? or going for a minimal/costume only version?

Is the 'stainless' one just a different medium choice from shapeways? (new to shapeways...sorry).. was it a lot more in price?

looks good!

I love how this is developing! OP, can I ask which service you had them printed at and about how much it cost? Not trying to be rude, I'm just new to 3D printing and I'm curious.

OP.. as in epilepticsquirl?

or OP as in jolive??

ES used/uploaded his models to shapeways..

jolive - (from looking at first pics of the bags) 'also' used shapeways..

(not sure if same for the stainless?)
