Unlimited Run Spiderman Lenses - MCU, Amazing, Raimi, Comic, Superior, Scarlet, Gwen, Custom

Re: Spiderman Lenses - Amazing, Raimi, Comic, Superior, Scarlet, Gwen, Custom

Any plans on a Civil War combo?
You need any help just hit me and Luna up

Not sure how to create the aperature style lenses for this one. Plus they appear to be flush against the fabric - I know this may all just be CGI at this point but I'll definitely need more images to get something figured out.

Why make an aperture lens when you could make the open lens...but I think the lens does need to be pretty flush...

If I recall he carves his lenses from wood first (or at least some models). I don't think he's interested in making a functioning aperture (could be wrong) but is more so concerned about accurately carving a static version.

At a minimum I'll make something static and maybe I'll try and investigate options for something that could be adjusted. RiotJavelinDX - you are right, I do make a lot of my masters first out of wood, it all depends on the complexity of the design. Making these as thin as they will need to be means that there won't be enough thickness to be able to attach magnets to them - likely they will have to be glued directly to the suit.

I've been sourcing some other options and will hopefully be able to offer fog free lenses that hide your eyes really well. This should work for all the frame options I have - including the domed ones.

I was thinking about getting your Dikito lenses for the new costume as something to use before more accurate ones are available IMG_4605_2.jpg_20160313_033203.JPG

Have them in urethane and then cut the curve a little and I think they'd be a great alternative as a static piece. When his eyes are open you can barely see the mechanical parts so might be a good idea :)

you aren't the first person to pm me suggesting that ;)

Just wanted to post an update that I will have a prototype MCU frame to show in the near future. Just working on finishing them up ;)

Ok, here is a teaser. Still a few adjustments to make - including a shell with recesses for them to sit into. As of now though these are very thin - less than 3mm thick so they have a very low profile. If you were to get them in rubber you could easily just attach them right to your mask. I decided to go with a wider eyed look as opposed to the squint.

These are just quickly attached with some magnets and are not sitting flush against the shell (not painted either, just cast in black resin). I used the new mesh option but these could also be used with the perforated vinyl or even the aluminum mesh painted white.

Once I get the final prototype completed I'll post up some better pics.

Looks pretty spot-on! Great job! But I believe his eyes were wider opened than that. Could be wrong, but I remembered the frames being thinner right before he says "hey everyone"

EDIT: Nevermind, just watched the trailer again. You did the right size :D Sorry bout that

They likely are thinner right at the beginning, I just went with a size that I liked the most :)
fun4spidey - once they are ready to go we can make that happen

Cant wait to get the MCU lenses with the new mesh! I am a huge fan of the look! Marvelous work once again!

Thanks all :)

The MCU frames will be ready to go this weekend - I'll update the thread with pics in the first post once I'm ready to take orders.
