For whomever is keeping track this is my 2nd attempt at this full FDM Solo:aSWs replica blaster and my 1st finished attempt of the Carbine.

Once I got through with the blaster I knew I wanted to at least attempt to recreate the Carbine extension and honestly.. it’s pretty intimidating to finally see in person.

Everything goes together and comes apart pretty simply yet still strong enough to lock itself into place..

So good and it just highlights even more how much thought can go into what's ostensibly a throwaway moment for a prop.
Engineering magnificence!
Thanks dude. Honestly it’s that moment is the film that highlights one of the many issues I personally believe it has. Legend always had it that Solos blaster was heavily modified. This Carbine transformation was a throwaway moment in the film yet it could have been so much more within the complexity of storytelling.

The replica itself is still pretty cool to see in person though and play with. I’d say I’d hope Disney revisits this story but they kind of already did with Andor. Same character basically and even has the blaster/carbine as well. So very grateful at least we have that

I am so impressed with this build. From start to finish the work has been incredible. With minimal reference you have built a dream design. And on top of that, you created a prop that functions even better than the original piece. You should be very proud of this project. And you should sell me a kit for my own collection :)

Thank you Dan! It’s definitely been a bit of change and a little tail chasing along the way but extremely gratifying once you see everything start to come together. I’m sure you know that feeling all to well with your own top self designs and builds. So again thanks dude for the kind words! Also if you truly do want one we can make that happen for sure.
