Very nice work - the mount and flash hider on your stembridge are looking particularly slick and detialed

Good tip on the krylon primer - I’ve had the same issue with rustoleum automotive primer… destroying small details or not curing properly. Though, the only one I swear by is aluminum metallic 2x spray paint - seems to dry on contact and adheres to some plastics very well.

The prequels used acrylic lacquer - and I am a big fan of it, but it doesn’t bond that well to resin casts. Maybe it too needs a proper primer

Thanks my man! I actually repainted the FH since as it was a little to dark of silver.. hopefully I can recapture a bit of that magic.

The SW prequels? I use a krylon lacquer that I like a lot but it’s very glossy is the only drawback so I can’t use it for everything. But I do like it..

Just weather up the mount, get the reticle into place and we are pretty much done..

Here are some of the mechanical/functional details that have been worked into the CAD file. It’s these subtle details that takes things to the next level IMHO. Here you can also see the unpainted naked prints as I leave anything “hidden” from sight unpainted so it continues to work as it should..

Here is Solo’s Bespin.

I wanted to create the mount so it would have a minor “rotation” to recreate this look for display if interested as well as it being straight..

I included the greeblie on the left side as well. You can see in these pictures that there is most definitely something on that left side of Solo’s Bespin. Obviously not the clearest pictures but knowing that both actors used both props at different times during production and the prop department built each almost identical to the other I‘m guessing it’s the same greeblie as seen on Lukes. Plus it adds a little something..

baron von blondle Dupli-Color silver and some graphite powder. But honestly graphite powder is the real key.
I've been dying to find how to create this exact color, it looks amazing. However, I can't seem to replicate it. It seems to always just be a darker silver. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I don’t think what you are doing looks all that bad honestly. But it may have a lot to do with the actual shade of silver you’re starting with? This is the silver I like to use myself. Any silver that’s light in color generally works well as the graphite powder will darken it up anyhow.

That’s the paint that’s on the back of this Hero..

..as well as on this Bespin’s flash hider, hammer along with all the revealing silver weathering in the mount. Simply spray painted it silver, then once dried rubbed on some graphite powder and for added weathering I dab on some black acrylic paint. Honestly that’s it..

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I tried a pseudo-scientific comparison. It seems darker in photos, which could be a factor.

Edit: I'm sorry, I assumed the wrong part you were talking about. I'm trying to get the barrel and body that black color.
