So, no RPF love for the new pilot, Poe Dameron?

Looks good Angelariel. Did you make the large metal pieces or did you find them? To me they look like some sort of car seat belt part I could be wrong though. Also the roll pin buckles did you get these silver or did you find some way to trip the gold colour?

Paul.

Thanks, Paul! Those pieces were actually sintra, cut and sanded with a dremel and shaped with a heat gun then I used two colors of Rub N Buff (silver and pewter) for the finish. Much of the belt buckle finish turned more silvery during the dye bath, but it rusted the buckles on the leg strap belts for some reason so I carefully went over all of them with a silver Testors paint pen to get them all shinyish again.

Re: Ratio of salt and vinegar. I used enough vinegar to fully cover the buckle, and an arbitrary amount of salt. 15 minutes seemed a good time. I rinsed it off thoroughly and dried it, then polished to avoid it tarnishing.

Well I tried it yesterday(before you posted!) and just added salt until it seemed that no more would dissolve(wasn't much!) came up a treat thanks, used an old tooth brush to scrub it down and I know have a shiny silver pair which is great.

Hi Angelariel, thanks for the info, even if I have no idea what sintra is! I assume it is just some sort of plastic? I am intending to make mine from plasticard as this usually is my medium of choice(model maker of more than 20yrs) Having not seen the belts in the flesh so to speak and reading your comments I assume the metal work is not removable?

Sintra is PVC foam board. But it is an American brand. Foamex can be found in the UK and Europe and is the same product.

Nope, the "metal" bits are completely removable and replaceable, I used hardware similar to Chicago screws to assemble everything so they would be able to be switched out when I upgrade or whatever.

I kind of meant on the PLCE belt! The tip on the Chicago screws I'd never have found those(plus I found a company to send me a few free samples!)

Is anybody else having a hard time finding even the close enough boots for a reasonable price anymore? The cheapest I could find any in my size is $90.

I found a possible clue into what helmet was used. The Pop vynl figure of Poe Dameron includes a wire that come out of the back of the helmet. This detail is missing in the 20 inch figure poe dameron back 2.jpg

This looks extremely close to a Vietnam War Era helicopter helmet

Do you have to contact HoseWorld to get the international shipping price? They won't let me select a different country than the UK for shipping. Or better yet, is anybody doing a group buy of the 20 mm hose?

I'm interested in a group buy

I have been in contact with the Rebel Legion builder in the UK he is willing to put in a hose order for shipment to the US. I'd like to gauge interest here.

Show of gloves - who would be interested in going in on a bulk order?

I'd like to get back to him soon.

I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed this, but I discovered something when clipping through the trailer a frame at a time. Poe has an extra belt across the back of his waist. It appears to be sewn in to the side seams of the flight suit and has a quick release buckle. I'm guessing this strap is either adjustable or meant to appear adjustable to bring the waist in to size. It's made from 1" grey polypro.
