So, no RPF love for the new pilot, Poe Dameron?

Few more updates, since I finished most of the vest

Now I just need to make the center clasp and Iron on the aurebesh lettering and insignia.

Decided to take a run at printing Poe's blaster since I had space in my production queue (modeling credit to AprilStorm)!

Not 100% screen accurate by any means, but I think it turned out pretty well. Feels a little small in my hands-- more holdout pistol than full-fledged blaster. I scaled it to match the dimensions of the actual base RL pistol, but I'm thinking maybe it should be a bit larger? Opinions?

Did you take a look at snow mobile modular helmet lenses? If not I would

I'm pretty sure the lenses are custom made. The Wired photos show that there is a "lip" at the bottom of the lenses similar to the lip on the OT lenses, but smaller, so as no to interfere with vision, and no vertical facet. I have found motorcycle "eye shield" lenses which are similar in shape and color without the lip, so they are close.

I used a Taslanated nylon, effectively a nylon with fluffed up fibers to give them a kind of cottony hand.

Wow,That is a very descriptive answer,Thanks.
Is your trade clothing design?
And the vest looks awesome, specially on the padding sections, and I like you did the back-neck portion higher ,like we can get from the pics on Poe in the cockpit.

If I remember correctly, the base pistol is about 196mm and ends around where the slotted barrel begins. (They obviously removed the slide.) So, going by that you need to scale it up another 15-20mm or thereabouts. I can check exactly how long my kit is later if you remind me. (I'm at work.) It's scaled working off both a resin cast of a real SS as well as the replica airsoft.

Thanks Joa, I'll take another crack at it!

great thanks. this answers quite a few questions i had. chestbox seems to be attached to coverall via hook. harness consists of two different kinds of grey fabric(although i still don't know where the long harness strap is attched beneath the belt) and finally i can see the harness holding strap on the back.
also great view of the flak vest. BTW does anyone maybe have some sewing patterns for it...or at least some crude meassurements?

I found a hi-res photos of Poe today and wanted to share!

Forgive my ignorance (I'm trying to stay somewhat spoiler free), but I visited the Discovery Times Sq Star Wars The Power of Costume Exhibit last Sat and shot a bunch of pix of the X-Wing pilot outfit from the new film. Again, I don't know if it's specific to this character or not. I'm building a Flickr album as I edit the pix (very tough shooting conditions) and will be adding throughout the week.

Is this the right guy?
