Forget a full-scale Falcon -- I want a life-size Slave I to live in. Gods below, that is somehow more beautiful every update. I've loved that ship since 1980 and this is like seeing her again for the first time.
Ok people...the painting is done! Firstly, let me say a HUGE thanks to Guy Cowen from Archive-X for not only supplying the volume of paint required but also for going out of his way to help me actually paint this beast. His paint is absolutely essential if you are seriously trying to replicate the work of the original ILM guys and mimic the techniques involved...the man is a genuine legend!
Anyway on with the show...
The lighting sucks and it's impossible to get any decent shots just yet but I'm very happy with the result.
Here's a few detail shots...
I know I'm late to the party but just came across this on the AX page. Absolutely stunning! The detail and dimensions are all incredible! I love seeing the kit parts enlarged. I can't believe how quickly you built this on your own. Way to top it off with a perfect paint job with the original colors. Pink splotches and all! I look forward to seeing this in its final display. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing work and paint and details and, and...if you own a 1/6th scale Boba Fett, please stand him up on the ramp (or cockpit); it'll complete the whole project
