Silk Spectre II

Hey guys,

I need some help gathering reference shots and info on the silk spectre costume. I'm doing one for my fiancé so she isn't really concerned with accuracy, but I am! Haha, I'm making it so it is going to be as accurate as my sanity permits.

I'm guessing it is mostly latex and the boots look custom made. I also remember seeing a close up of the zipper. I think is was a skull or ghoul maybe?

Any pics, info, or help will be greatly appreciated!!

I was looking into making this myself some time but shipping of latex to here will be a nightmare

Anyway it is a transluscent amber and opaque black latex bodysuit and corset, gloves and stockings (the actress and stunt doubles wear different shoes with it depending on the needs of the scene).

Here you can see that the yellow is translucent as you can see the join between arm and torso of the dummy. You can also see there is a princess seam and raglan seam in the bodysuit too as well as the black halter type piece.
The gloves appear molded rather than seamed. Ditto on the stockings which seem to be worn over the shoes.

Thanks for the links my friend. I have found a source for the boots from Pleaser shoes. They are the heat 3010's. You can see an edge under the stockings that suggests that she is already wearing thigh high boots. I am planning on doing the "over the boots" stockings with the Heat 3010's. I think it will work out nicely.

The only thing I'm having a tough time getting reference for is the back and the zipper. It looks as if there is a split in the zip at the bust, and a new zipper takes over. We know the top zipper is the skull.

Any help will be appreciated!!

that edge is actually from the top of the latext stocking being reinforced to protect the latex from the pressure of the garter (a single point of stress like that could cause the latex to rip).
The boots are ankle boots as can be seen in the Weta Collectables photo

It's not a split but the corset is zippered separately to the bodysuit- that zip will finish somewhere under the corset, I'm currently doing the same thing for a bodysuit and corset for a friend.

Thanks for the info buddy! Could ellaborate on the corset zipper a bit more? I get concept, but the execution of it is still eluding me.

I have this costume and it is a bodysuit with a corset over it , which is why it looks like the zip is split.

Whilst I was at DragonCon I did see another silk spectre that had made latex footed stockings and was wearing shoes over them, which is a really good idea as the boots can get uncomfortable after a while standing up and the boots arent as easy to get off if you need to take them off.

What are you planning for the belt?

I already have the body double latex gloves finished. I'm working on the black pieces on the the bodysuit right now. I am doing latex "stirrup" type stockings that will go over the heels. From my observations of screenshots, that is how it was done in the film.

I am going to sculpt the buckle. It is a pretty simple design and shouldn't take more than a couple hours to get it completely finished. As far as the belt goes, I don't what I'm going to do. I have been looking for a leather belt that has the same shape, but I haven't found anything suitable yet. What did you use??
