Silicone P1 Suit Evolution. Pg41 Hands Video 19/07/13

Your not a bad mod George. I am representing you in this case. ( although you missed this also lol )

OK, new crazy idea to thwart your over-paranoid idea: Take your initial armature, which is your hand, put said glove over said armature, and paint accordingly. Thus, no stretching of the paint. Balls in your court; GO!

Also said in post #508, i had to smash the life cast of my hand ;)

I am really not that worried about this guys hehe, it is not like the head where i had quite a few issues that needed sorting, most stuff from here on out with the silicone is simple compared to the head issues.

just waking up now, once i get out of bed, get some caffine, i will be onto this, should have pics of the hand later today, then i can start throwing some paint at it.

thanks again, for your thoughts on this though.

Oh nearly forgot to mention in my coffee deprived state ( of by the way i only have 1 serving of coffee left grrrrr )

Alittle tip incase anyone was not aware etc, i will be using the clay i took off the lifecasted hand, as a guide ( i had to throw some in the bin,or is got washed away with the cleaning of the mould, but only a very small amount ) to guage how much silicone i need, that way there should not be any waste.

now wheres that last coffee.

Yeah that theory worked ok , apart from another school boy error lol.

I carefully meassured out my Part A and B, then got a container to mix seperate portions at a time for each layer, i then had a brain fart and for some stupid reason poured the whole of part A into Part Bs container........ ( so much for doing layers huh lol )

I then spent the best part of 30 mins trying to brush ALL the needed silicone into a decent thickness all over, the result was acceptable but far from ideal.
I had approx 4 thin patches which ripped when i removed the hand from the mould, these are seen in the picture but the black marks, the black marks being superglue where i had glued it back together, then coated the inside of the glove with more gel00 to hold it together.

As you can see in some places it would ideally do with some more silicone or padding, i am contemplating several plans, but the simplest appears to be to just buy some weigh lifting gloves and use them to flesh out the palm, as that seems to be the only place it is loose.
There are a couple of creases which happend when i fixed the palm i guess, but i am thinking these will hardly be seen, and to be honest i am not prepared to pour another due to the cost of this stuff lol.

again please excuse the crap photos, i only have my phone.

Video added to show flexibility of glove/hand.

Left P1 hand in silicone.

Awesome hand! Amazing detail! I love how the only places it seems to bunch up like a glove is the "leather glove" part of the palm, really realistic!

Thanks,

Sure theres a few problem areas i could easily fix with another pull, but i think i will just use this for now.

Not back to props as such, but i wanted to work on the P1 bio, so i did.

1st i cannibalised a old icons cast i purchased on ebay prior to me finding the lair, this will now be cut up and used as a base for a custom bio i have planned eventually.
I cut off the laser shroud and the cheek greeble, the hose connector was rubbish so it was not used.
.
Here it has been attatched and i have started to finalise the shape of it with epoxy sculpt.

Then i sculpted the hose connector out of epoxy sculpt, then made a mould and poured one from eazeflow as it weighs a fair bit less, and i wanted to keep the weight down if atall possible.

the paint was all done today, i am not sure how many more layers i wish to add, as i see alot of overworked bios, and i am not aiming for that look, as i will want to keep it consistant with th rest of the armour , if and when that time comes.
paint up was done with sponges and airbrush only. sponges for the main part then airbrush for the rest. i treated myself to alittle point and shoot digital camera, but apparently the auto exp, esp,or whatever the hell it is called, still requires certain amount of skill, which i lack hehe, as the subtle golds and greens are not showing up. but so be it, i care not frankly.

after sanding as much as i possibly dared inside,I also added my own predesq glyph inside, and a few greebles as if the bio works, i may add more to these, or remove and try a few different combos of items, but as my mask is a real close fit, i do not have a huge amount of room to do what i originaly wanted.

one pic inside my shed, as it somehow in places picked up the gold undertones, they are nowhere near as bright to the eye, just thought i would show that they are actually there (y)

Creating is creating..and you are doing a bang up job at that. Love the Bio Lee ...sooooo cool ..been awhile since Ive seen you do one, and you have not lost the touch my friend ..Love the inside ..actually REALLY love it ..very subtle and not overdone

Very nice paint-up, Lee. I have to agree with George on the inside; really like what you did. It's definitely the first inside paint job I've seen...

Thanks Guys, i have a few more layers i think i will do today, then i just need to find a decent UK satin top coat, but i want to get this done asap.

Thanks Bryan,

Naa the berserker you sent me ( thankyou again by the way ) is with the rest of my wall stuff, which probably wont happen now, but none of it is going anywhere.

If i do anything pred wise now, i am just trying to work on my suit. and maybe just maybe finish the P2 sculpt.

I like it! the inside is nice and minimalist. which is a good thing. gives you something to look at without it screaming at your eyeballs to- look here! no look here! look here!

you can see the hints of gold in the first couple pics if you really look.

I'm glad you finally got around that P1 Stunt, and my oh my what a wonderful job you did! The inside work is a nice touch and that paint is well done Kudos Lee...
