great detail in your sculpts lee!
what is your plan on casting the pieces?
Thanks,

Casting will be the same as the right shoulder bell, silicone mould with fibreglass jacket , then cast in plastiflex.

It's looking cracking Lee. Are you always going to sculpt the battle damage in? Or have you considered casting and then damaging it afterwards for that total realistic effect?

its only the odd scrape, I can add more if needed, but I knew I wanted some so figured why not include it in the sculpt.

Thanks, the right hand is being moulded today, and as I am taking it easy I may wait and do one side today then one tomorrow. so the bicep armour may have to wait a few days, as I am back on nights come Monday.

Well, that thing is just preddy.  Yeah, I made a lame joke.  Whatcha gonna do about it?!  :p  No really, nice crisp detailing.  Me likey!

lol. next is the shoulder bell, once I figure out if I should make a armature of just use all clay, I have no other sculpts going on so have enough clay to probably block it out.

think a few shoulder measurements are in order 1st.

Quickly trimmed up, I will drill some bolt holes next , then get everything out of the mould so it is ready for casting , which will not be for about 3 week sadly.

I haven't commented on this but i just want to say this suit is outstanding and it aint even complete yet.  The quality of the paint
jobs on this is just crazy you are a machine with a airbrush in your hand lee.

haha, hardly it was done in a hurry and as long as it yields one hand I care not.

Xbox at a guess, apart from the 2nd hand game thing, which if anyone has read MS have stated is up to the publisher, and MS themselves have said they WILL NOT stop their games being passed to friends or traded.

I fail to see what the ps4 fanboys are crying about.

Now get off my thread Mcclane.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!!! This is just so pretty!!!!

This is all coming along so nicely!! Totally inspirational work, Lee. These are the kinds of threads that I love to read through.

Definitely lit a fire up under my ass, that's for sure.

:D

Nice work as always ..i feel i have to check in only periodically ..save up some posts otherwise i may seem to be a Usurper stalker

can wait to see the hand cast. oh ..BTW ..i forgot if i told ya or not but i found a replacement for silpoxy. GE silicone caulking 1 ( the number 1 is important) ..its about $8.00 USD for a whole caulking tube rather then the 30 bucks for the small squeeze tube at smooth on. It cures just the same ( yes ..same vinegar smell) and breaks down with Naphtha

lol , nothing much to stalk now.

yeah you told me about that stuff, ill be sure to grab some when the suit and I land stateside for dcon. thanks :)

Yup feels like I am making some headway at last, i still plan to try and get the bicep armour moulded this week.

later today i am going to measure my shoulder, then probably make a armature either carved out of expanding diy foam, or taped up cardboard.

Well my expanding foam idea did not work for a shoulder armature, ( the can I had left had leaked a little and screwed up the valve )

so cardboard armature time.

measured my shoulder, then made a cardboard armature the same size, then nuked some monster clay and layered it on top, when its finally cooled and gone hard im hoping I will give me a solid enough base to block out the shoulder piece.

Well, got to this, and I can see it will test my patience.

the side panel is blocked out as you see, and im pretty sure I made it too big.
I was going to cut the edges in but stopped after the lower corner as it looks too big by maybe 10mm maybe, I am going to have to do the other side and fins to know for sure I guess, I hope to have them blocked out by tomorrow night as I am have a few hours of sculpting tonight and tomorrow.
