Sideshow Anakin vs Obi-Wan Diorama

Heya guys,

Has anyone as yet purchased the Sideshow Anakin vs Obi-Wan Diorama, and if so are you happy with it?

I was thinking of getting one, but will have to do it over the internet as my local Adelaide collectable store doesn't have them so I will have to buy on line. Normally, I get to check them out before I buy them, but this one isn't appearing in the stores here at the moment.

I have seen one in a shop here in France and it seemed very nice to me. Very well made but I didn't look at all the details and I don't know exactly what you're looking for...

I won mine through the Sideshow Wish List contest. It arrrived on Dec 29. I was shocked! I never expected to win.

The diorama is fantastic. I was tempted to buy it before I entered the contest. It is heavy and well assembled. I heard people complaining about Anakin's arm falling off (it's held into place by small magnets), but mine stays on without any trouble. The sculpting is very intricate and detailed. The likenesses are also very good. I am particularly impressed with the scortching on the clothing and the detailing on the floor section of the platform they are fighting on. It looks as if lava has splashed onto the tiles and created weld spots in certain places. Very nice touch. I'm not too crazy about the lava itself. It looks too... animated and dramatic.

The diorama is well packaged and very well protected. The shipping box is HUGE. It comes unassembled... you need to connect the sabers/hands to the figures and then place the figures into the pegs in the base.

All in all, I am quite pleased with this piece. I am even happier that I won it, but even if I had purchased it outright... I would not have regretted it.

Looks awesome!!!!!!! I haven't collected much sideshow star wars statues but that might change now. Normally, I only stick to the Gentle Giant ones, but this diorama looks definately sweet.

I've ordered mine now.

Now the wait for the Yoda vs. Dooku diorama coming in the next few months!

A friend of mine ordered this piece from Sideshow directly and it arrived with Anakin's rear tabbard broken off. So, he sent it back and got a replacement. He received the second one in the same condition. At that point, he just returned it. So, be watchful for damaged pieces when it arrives. Just a head's up...

I just received mine this week and I have the same problem - but with the front left tabbard. In the process now of trying to return it for an exchange. Will try to get another that hopefully is fine, but it's got me a bit worried that this might be a standard problem for them.

Hopefully the next one is mint (fingers crossed)!
