Show your Dr. Who props!

Just got a mini metal lathe a while back and this is my first go at a 9th/10th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver body (minus the blue strip) side by side and fit with parts from the very first sonic built for me by SanHolo80. Not perfect, but not bad for a first try. The cut away section for the slider was a tad off and in filing it down, I made it too wide. Other than that I thought it turned out okay.

I'm anxious to get started on more of the bodies plus the base and emitter parts. I'm practicing the Sanholo80 method of sonic fabrication in hopes to help him with lathed blanks for his builds. I may be working on certain parts for other sonics as well but for now, it's full 10th style lathed blanks.

I have some other props I want to have a go at and will post them when I get that far. And more sonic stuff to come of course.

This is a Tenth Planet Cyberman, built by myself and my wife. We were lucky enough to meet up with Alexandra Tynan, who designed and oversaw the construction of these for the show back in 1966 (when her name was Sandra Reid), for a long lunch in Bristol at the end of 2014, and she answered all of our HUNDREDS of questions...and her memory seemed incredible at 48 years after the event. Anyway, yeah...hope you like. It's not quite finished, the supports for the gun aren't there yet - but good enough to show, I hope.

Speaking of screwdrivers, I was rewatching deep breath today, and has anyone noticed, the sonic they use is the CO toy? If you look during the scenes where they're strapped to the booth in the larder, when it starts to fall from the doctors coat you can clearly see the hinge for the stupid red button, and if you look close when it's rolling around you can see the two buttons.

It was just the toy in that scene because they needed a stunt screwdriver. The did the Same with Matt before. In other scenes in Deep Breath it is the actual metal prop.

Yeah, I noticed that. At the end when Clara grabs it, it's clearly the metal one. I wonder why they used the toy though, and not a proper stunt prop.

Hi everyone just wanted to share with you my de-mat circuit from The Three Doctors. I know you can but this prop ready made and in a kit but I wanted to give it a go with bits I had laying around. Let me know what you all think I've worked out the the materials cost me £4 all in all.

Also here is my video diary/tutorial on the building of the prop

3d printed 12th Doctor's sonic screwdriver with electronics done by 13doctorwho. I also printed a confessional dial that can be converted to a stand using an add-on designed after the port where the sonic first appeared in the show.

Earlier I posted this in the Second Doctor's Sonic thread but figured it should go here too.

Today I revived a package containing the second of two new sonics for my collection. First up is the "Fury from the Deep" life preserver whistle made by The Acme City and the other is "The War Games" Ever Ready penlight replica made by Dark Energy Creations. The penlight replica features both twist on and press on light activation. It's so nice to finally have these two gaps in my collection filled! Also, I have no idea how this worked out but the knot in the wood completed Pat's eye in the side-by-side pic lol
