Show your Dr. Who props!

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

There's four Daleks in there somewhere - a 60s style one, a bronze "New Series" one, a "New Paradigm" one and the Golden Emperor from the TV21 comics. Yes, two Cybermen, an "Earthshock" one and an "Age Of Steel" one.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

WoW !! You guys have lots of great stuff :) I've only just started building my prop collection. I don't want to buy anything, I want to build it all myself from scratch, so I suppose It's gonna take a while before I have acquired a collection of any note.
So far; 2nd Docs Etheric Wave Detector, 3rds Demat Circuit, 8ths Sonic, 10ths Adipose Detector, and partially built DNA scanner. I'm also working on the power of 3 cubes and the 6ths sonic lance.

Is it possible for you to say what did you use for the Dematerialisation circuit. Just askin' as i intend to do one in a near futur.

It's just clear acrylic rod of different thickness, P38 filler and lots of sanding :)

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

I received my 5th and 8th Sonics from Forbidden Planet on Saturday, I will post pics as soon as I can.

Finally, I have bought a Lumar Championship Yo-Yo; the same type carried by the Doctor in Genesis of the Daleks.

The string had seen better days, but I have some spare Yo-You strings so I cut off the old one and attached a new one. Now it works like a charm!

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Yesterday my Rubbertoe Replica’s Black Archive Vortex Manipulator arrived!

Since the original Jack Vortex Manipulator went missing before fimling of “Day of the Doctor” Nick was asked to replicate a new one using only pictures of the original to work from and fast! As a result his replica is over-sized by about an inch near as I can tell.
Also the Black Archive version had a light activation button set into the center of the last oval button on the prop (above the brass grill). You can’t see that button in “Day of the Doctor” because they shot around it so for my Vortex Manipulator Nick very kindly fulfilled my request remove that button and replace it with a hidden toggle switch sown into the leather – which he had told me was how the original Jack VM was made.

Nick is a really friendly guy and he makes some awesome stuff for all of us. Can’t recommend it enough.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

I had to actually mod it a bit too. Not up to your skills by any means but Nick made the hidden button a bit to obvious so I had to recess it a bit further to make it properly hidden. It is a really nice piece though for sure.

It looks really smart. I've always wanted one of those. Sadly far too tricky for me to make, and as I made a rule to only build not buy, I fear I shall never be lucky enough to have one. Well done on getting yours though, it's superb :)

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

At the rate you're building these props, it's scary to think of what your collection will look like in a year. Awesome stuff.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

My collection is still very small :(, must build faster !! :D

Is that an 8th Doctor Sonic I see? That's obviously not the toy, (unless you repainted the emitter.) Is that one of Russ'? Great collection, hopefully mine will be like that someday. Also, I know you build all of your props, would you consider making another Sonic Lance?

In a year he'll probably be building an addition on his house to house all the props he's built.
