Where do you get your 6061 blanks?

I've used Metal Supermarkets in the past...but I found a local metal supplier that is significantly cheaper. I was surprised they'd sell to me cuz I'm sure I buy very small quantities compared to their average customer but they've always taken the time to give me quotes and they've always treated me very well, despite the fact that I buy $100 worth of material at a time.

I buy several different kinds....lots of solid metal rods (of varying sizes from 0.5" up to 2.25" in diameter), but I also buy some pipe with various outside / inside diameters. I have some with 3/4" holes in them, which are perfect for holding blades and saves me from having to drill it out.

I also have some thin-walled pipe, which I've used to make stuff like the emitter and grip "sleeve" on this saber

and the lower grip on this saber, which contains a sound module.

Here's what I have going right now. Any Suggestions would be amazing. I've built this with some old flash parts. Pommel is from a projector lens casing, midsection is from a flash handle. Emitter is a bulb casing from a movie projector bulb and the shroud is a lens hood. I might switch out the activation switch to something smaller.

I like what you've got going on here! My best advice is to keep re-shuffling your parts, thinking of it aesthetically and trying to balance it out. (That Mara Jade saber always bugs me because of how top-heavy it looks)

No sir.... I machined it. Thank you.

Pretty much everything on my sabers is machined by me (including buttons/knobs and the covertec), except any LEDs or set screws I may use.

Fine grit sandpaper, dude.

Also have a bench grinder with a polishing wheel on it...and a big brick of polishing compound.

So - any ideas would be most welcome. I bought a Kobold flash unit. That's right, but not the stumpy ones we all love...I found a 3 cell Kobold!

The thicker knurled band slides up and down and is the mount for the reflector.
