Show off your CLASSIC spiderman costume

I bet someone would make a fortune if they made a run of the eyes like on the costume in post #8. And I bet they wouldn't be hart to make out of craft foam or something.

If the interest is there, I'll gladly make a set and offer them in black onyx (plastic) or black urethane (rubber). I just don't want to go end up making a mold that never gets used.

A quick sketch to estimate the proportions. I was thinking 10cm x 14cm. And they look quite thin, probably only 3mm or so. Sound about right?

Awesome photos and costumes as usual! :D

Hy, this is my spidey costume. I made it 2 years ago and it has 6 pieces.
I hope you like it!

Damn, you made it yourself? How do you guys do the lines on the homemade ones? I want to make a seven piece from scratch. All handmade. That way I can feel like Peter Parker! And that would be the highest level of technical accuracy. Y'know, if it was handmade?

I made the lines with a black permanent marker.
PS: my wife helped me with the sewing and I made the sewing patterns!

i did mine with permanent marker too but for my next suit im goin to need a mannequin or duct tape dummy it will help with my lines but im satisfied with my suit for now

i free handed mine...but i would rather had a mannequin to set it on to get it a little better but im satisfied for now i will be starting on a new comic style soon & i will be makeing a duct tape dummy & using it to keep the fabric stretched and steady

whole suit with new mask now :D..need to tighten it up around the neck tho but eh i like the flow of the suit & its been a good learning experience

That is awesome! We should all go down to our local fabric store and take lessons so we can sew our own spidey suits and save 700 bucks!

Thanks man, ill be putting what i learned from this one for my next suit & will be using a duct tape dummy also & probably just do a 6 piece this time instead of 7 , ill be goin for a red and blue with more of bigger eye custom comic look

Wow, what an Amazing work, your suit with new mask reminds me of the James Cameron's planned Spidey movie as depicted on its storyboard.

This isn't mine, but it is my favorite. I'd love one like this.

I really like the eyes on this suit. I think the only thing I'm not TOO fond of on it is that it doesn't even have a little bit of muscle shading. Because the honest truth in the way Spider man suits are built is that even if you do have muscle, it doesn't show through the spandex suit like that (and look obvious as seen in the comics). You don't see this problem in the movies or on most costumes (since they do have the muscle shading) but this is a good example of one that probably needs just a slight bit. Even though the Ditko/Romita style weren't too muscular, i still think it would look better with some shading.

Is the suit that dark or is it the lighting? Because i feel like the dark color looks REALLY cool with the style eyes you used
looks very "First appearance" Spidey :thumbsup

I need to get some better pics done....and my front spider fixed a bit... and I need to thicken the webbing so it's more visible in pictures. My eyes were made with one-way-mirror-window-film. It worked beautifully! You would not believe how clear you can see through. But hey, here it is! Sorry they're rather large.

^Halloween carnival thingy we went to. Despite appearances, this isnt a little kids ride. BIG adults can fit in them. and I mean... BIG. haha

I know this thread is supposed to be for non-Raimi style suits, but I recently modded one with custom frames to look more comic-style:

Here's my thread, and here's me all suited up:

Now that I look at these pics, I'm thinking that I should have made the frames a bit thicker, they kind of get lost in the mask looking at it from far away. Also, I think I made the bottom curve of the frames a bit too low, and not enough curve on the top.
