I started on this a while ago and am almost finished. I still have more weathering to go but should be done this weekend.
The large rocket is 2 feet tall.

Just starting to weather this one

Very cool, Tim !!! Did you make them out of ABS pipe ?

Thanks! The bodies are PVC Plumbing Pipe and the fins are Sintra.

Here are some progress pics.

Here's my makeshift work area.

I like all those rockets very much ! Please educate me, from which movie do they come ?

Thanks! No movie, I just made them up. Here's the drawing I made that started it off. I actually just finished weathering them.
I have to get some pics soon.

Very cool...and weird. :lol

Now go plant a few of them around the neighbourhood, nose-deep in lawns, verges etc, and wait for the news helicopters. :p

Disclaimer: don't do this.

I built a light booth tonight so I could get some decent pics. I finished up the weathering last night. This is my first scratch-built model so I'm pretty happy!

Looking great! I always love to see your "I´ll just grab a basic shaped item, attach a few greeblies and slap some paint on it" projects!

The only thing I´d like to point out is that a few panel lines on the top cones might have helped with giving them some scale. To me they currently look like they are ammo for a grenade launcher or aircraft/spaceship missiles. Might be the multiple rockets in those latter pics, though, the single photo works a lot better. But I can see a rocket base with a lot of those ;)

And love that D9 colour scheme :p

Great work, as always FB(y)thumbsup I love the paint choice you have went with as well. I would love to be able to build something like that as well for my son. I suppose I could make the attempt in my basement. Where I live, if I tried that outdoors, I would surely get a visit from Homeland Security:lol

Thanks for the comments!

I was originally going to have people and support vehicles and make a diorama out of it but I was running out of time so I just finished the smaller ones in a few days. I spent too much time on the larger one and scale went out the window.

Thanks! It's the first time I used real powders. I used to sand down pastels but there is no comparison. I used the ones made by Bragdon. They are amazing!
