Scottjua's stuff: HELP NEEDED... all Meta accounts GONE

oh nice! thank you for sharing that video, cool build with my parts!
for info, since you mention the "wood screws" in my kit that you replaced with the correct 4-40 screws. The ones i provide are actually metal sheet screws and they are a match to the screws that I had with all my RO-72 pistols, just longer to work with the scopes. The head is also a match to the private references I was shared for this project. So they screw nicelly into the pistols normally and are accurate, it's weird that you had to replace that for some reason.

Really cool to see the assembled prop :) I'm glad you liked the part, did my best to be super duper accurate :)
cheers

Very nice work Scott, expect nothing less from you ;)

May I ask, how you attached the sideplates (esp. the large one)? Have you been able to get out the pressfit „plugs“ and use the existing holes for the screws? Don‘t want to damage the sideplates…

There is really no reason to remove the plugs on the thick side plates, those are most likely injection marks from the zamac/white metal plates.
The screws should be hidden under the greeblies like Rufus showed here:

Weird… I’ve had a number of R072s here, and all were machine screws. Mine was original and used 4-40 or it could have been a very close metric I suppose. In any case they’ve all been machine screws.

It’s quite possible they just did a variety of things, since the rest of the hardware varies so much.

Thanks! I just glue them in place. I also add a slight bend to the thin lower plate to accommodate the height difference when overlaying the thick plate. This also give flat surfaces for glue.

The plug I left alone.

The original prop… those plugs are not mold marks… they’re most likely pivot pins, because they are steel and show rust, where the rest is aluminum (assumed, as it’s an alloy that doesn’t rust and most common).

that is so weird! vintage parts and variations!
I had 5 or 6 Ro72 going through my hands and they ALL had those same black screws here, the silver one being the ones I provide that are a matching thread size, proper length and matching head to the ref I have of a broken scope with the screw visible:

that is so freaking weird! all the pistols I have seen always had this! i'm so sorry if people got a different one and my screws were not working, I had no idea!
