I received some pictures from the shop

Our Flash Hiders are done and I hope everyone approves

The Hoth Scope Bracket Disks are done and I think they look fantastic

The Bespin Scope Bracket Disks were started but he held production because he said they didn’t quite look right

Instead of doing a knurl, they cut individual slots with a cutter, which explains why this was kind of pricey.

I don’t know of any difinitive picture that shows exactly how this disk looks but I was going for more of a knurled look, but what do you think?

The Bespin knobs definitely don't look right.

And are the Bespin and Hoth flash hiders the same length?

Heh... How many bespin knobs have he pumped out yet? Is it too late for him to correct the knobs without it costing us? As for the flash hiders they look amazing!!

Production is halted on the Bespin knobs so we can change them.

BUT I need more to go on, I don't have any pictures that clearly show this part so if anyone has anything that helps clear this up please post it.

How did MR do it?

The straight section below the knurls needs to be taller, for one thing. The angle on the one in the middle looks the closest.

Can we see some photos of the blueprints for the knobs and the flash hiders?

My friends a machinist, he says to knurl something is very tough... And the smaller it is the harder. I hope the shop can work it out, as for pictures I can only link the ones I saw in the greeblies thread

Here's a quick google of a MR doesn't look accurate at all

EDIT: Removed photo to avoid confusion

That's not an MR

Must have been titled wrong?

Didn't someone have the correct (camera bracket?) part... or did I imagine that!? :confused

The angle is 60 degrees on the new part and the sample, it is the distribution that makes it look off

I have posted pictures of the prints all through this thread and I summarized them in the fist post

That would be awesome

Those prints don't have any measurements.

What happened to the consensus that the straight section of the knob is taller than the angled section? It looks like you've got them the same height.

This is why it'd help to see numbers on the prints.

It looks like all you've done with the Hoth hider is change the radius from the Bespin hider to a chamfer, and kept all other dimensions from the Bespin hider the same. I didn't think this is what was finalized.

I can not disclose the exact measurements of the parts just as I can not give anyone the code that the shop creates to make the parts.

I have posted generalized measurements of all of the parts all through both threads.

In my past project and in this current project the general consensus on the Hoth Flash Hider was that it is basically the same as the Bespin except for the taper and the knurling.

I don't remember anyone posting anything negative about the flash hider designs.

If you look at the first post there is a picture of the parts from my 2004 run and no one had any issue with the flash hiders back them and no one posted any issue during the current project.

Please look through both threads and let me know if I missed something.

As for the Bespin Scope Bracket Knob, it was discussed back and forth and there were multiple opinions of what it should look like.

We eventually went with a 50/50 split on the flat area to the angled area.

We can re-open the discussion on the Bespin Scope Bracket Disk but I need a lot of input form the group, it can just be a discussion between a couple people.

I guess it was so long ago, I just don't recall. I do know that if 50/50 was what the final decision was for the knob, I wouldn't have gone along with it.

I do remember that we discussed this part at great length. I think we all need to go back through the threads.
