Limited Run RUN CLOSED * DL-44 ESB Blaster Machined Parts Set * RUN CLOSED

Agreed, ok to remove Bespin. How close will these plaques look compared to the recent Han RoTJ run?

BRASS PISTON DETAILS

My shop called with some questions about the pistons

All of the pistons will need the following processes:

  • The spru machined of the back at the seam line
  • The 2 holes will be drilled though
  • The surface of the holes (where the phillips screw contacts) will get a very light spot face to clean it up

There is an additional detail that we have not discussed.

At the center seam line there is some sort of hardware that appears to be part od the pistons. We can accomplish this 2 ways.

  1. Modify a screw or bolt so that it sits beside the pistons to create the look
  2. Machine a counter bored "pocket" into each side of the piston so the screw or bolt can be left in tact

Modifying the hardware with a machining process could be very costly so most people that would want to achieve this look by doing that will modify the hardware by hand. It will not be easy nor consistent.

Machining the pockets into the side will obviously add to the cost but I don't think it will be that much. If someone were to ask ME to modify the hardware for them I would probably charge $10 because this will be a pain and time consuming. I seriously doubt these 2 pockets will add even half of the much to the cost but you never know.

ANYWAY, lets discuss this.

If the machinists can do this at a reasonable price <$10 as you mentioned I'm happy to add that process.

... plaques look good to me btw :)

im comfortable with 10-20 bucks for machining these "side tabs", and be interested in having it done

#2 sounds like the way to go... :lol

:lol Once again, this blaster newb has no clue what the detail you're discussing nor am I able to visualize your proposed solutions to said misunderstood detail. I'll go with the group consensus and am happy to pay a $10 upgrade if that's the chosen route!

Whoops! I didn't realize the scope bolts were a part of the scope invoice. Is there any chance I can still get in on a set of standard scope bolts?

Sorry, I'm late to comment on the plaques too. They look good. Anybody think there should be a colon or something else to break up the text at the bottom?

now you have me worried.. did i order scope bolts as well?!

I didn't mean to alarm anyone. I thought they would be in the hardware invoice at the end as well. However, in the first post, it lists the scope bolts as being part of the scope invoice
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry I missed this situation.

The scope bolts will be invoiced with the Scope Machining Process along with the machined Light Sockets and if the deluxe machining is selected the lens rings and glass lenses.

I know this thread and project have been very long but I will make sure that the group does not miss any important info by both posting it here and then including it in an email.
