it was an incomplete suit as far as I'm aware but still the first ANH casted......:thumbsup
Dunno... the pics that were posted of the original suit showed what appeared to be a complete suit anyways... even down to the lil' details like thigh drop boxes, sniper knee plate, thigh mini ammo belt etc. etc.
It might be missing the ab-plate buttons panel but that's not going to keep anyone awake at night

Minor things such as this, can easily be scratchbuilt without ruining the integrity of the suit as a whole. Luckily all the basic forms are present and accounted for, such as the chest plate, back plate, abdominal/cod piece, kidney/butt armour, arms n legs :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
IMO it's these components' shape and 'look' that is so hard to replicate by talented sculptors.... and makes ALL the difference between a fantastic scratchbuilt suit, and one which looks
exactly like the Stormtrooper armour you see on screen when watching A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back.
The only minor things that I can see with these pics can be easily addressed by Rob and Si, as mentioned by BobTheRocker the return edges do look a tad shallow on the bottom of the chest piece.
Perhaps this is a result of over-enthusiastic trimming, and the return edge is present in the vac-formed chest piece 'fresh off the former' ?
And as Rob has already stated, the issue with the curvature of the chest piece that Brian Muir pointed out.
^^^ Man, how can the end result be anything
but perfect, when you have the original sculptor of the armour providing critique, and access to an original ANH movie suit to make the moulds from?!?!
We've come a LONG WAY from Armor F/X my friends... what a truly exciting time it is to be a Stormtrooper fan! :thumbsup :love :love
Bring on the Stormtroopers!!
Cheers,
