ROTJ CUT SCENE on Star Wars Blu-Ray for next year....

I'll second that! I'm looking forward to seeing another perspective of the awesome meditation chamber. I only wonder if these deleted scenes have been restored/upconverted to 1080p. Either way, this is definitely on my list of "gotta-have's"! :cool

I love it!!!!

I really don't mind seeing original footage added to the movie, I would also love to see the OT in Bluray.

You must not read the EU...they've turned him into the most wishy-washy, uptight, constipated boor that you can possibly imagine.

I don't care if it's new footage, old footage, or a mix of new/old. It's the freaking luke and Vader scene from ROTJ.

My past history and interests as a SW fan make this a REALLY BIG DEAL. I have always been fascinated and passionate about all things cut scenes, and whether this is real or has some CGI effects makes no difference to me.

As far as whether or not it takes away from the big "reveal" of Artoo shooting Luke's saber and him firing it up green, continuity wise it DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE. Chronologically there are blue and green and even a purple saber blades in the prequels, therefore making the whole point of the reveal moot. Whether you like or dislike the prequels, step back, take a breath and come to understand SW is now a 6 picture film, and that is how its creator perceives it. So I would welcome this scene edited in.

And as far as whether that is Mark Hamill or not, I read a rumor list long ago that said Lucas was re-editing ObiwanVs.Vader to help bring up the pacing to more prequelish standards as opposed to, really, how boring old man vs Man in suit is, and also another scene was Luke training on Dagobah with a stunt double and a blast shield helmet on and Yoda tossing the iron bar at him to slice, "Were you a Jedi, in 6 pieces would it be." CG or not, I'm looking forward to that one as well.

So the releases will be something like this:
1st Blu-Ray saga release: ROTJ Luke building lightsaber scene reinserted.
2nd Blu-Ray saga release: CGI Yoda inserted in Phantom Menace.
3rd Blu-Ray saga release: ROTJ Sandstorm scene reinserted.
4th Blu-Ray saga release: Luke and Biggs on Tatooine scenes reinserted.
5th Blu-Ray saga release: Holiday Special officially acknowledged as Star Wars canon and packaged with the six episodes.
:lol

Yeah man and lets ditch that boring old man style musical score and get some techno or hip hop or something to jazz it up a bit. :love

IMHO, I truly believe the footage is NOT vintage leftover from the original production.
We would have seen it long ago it it was....

I love it. I love that I live in a world that gives me more original trilogy star wars.

Once this gets on Blu-Ray, we also get a new OT prop: lightsaber tool. Yes, yes, and yes.

You know, with today's technology...and I think there wouldn't be a person on here who could honestly disagree...that they could mat out all the ewoks and replace them with Wookies as originally designed.

Eyelines.

And you're forgetting that Jedi would still suck.

Case in point, Revenge of the Sith.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but there are more than a few on here who could disagree with this. Technical realities aside, from a story standpoint you'd also have to explain Wookiees on Endor, necessitating a whole other level of integrating them into the film, bringing up Chewbacca's role in the story; there is a chain reaction you're considering unleashing.

But back to the lightsaber gab...

George could just replace all dialog so that they say Kaskyyed (spelling) instead of endor.

Actually, I could see that as a possibility from a technological standpoint. I mean, the joke is that George would use digital actors if he could, but I'm not so sure they're joking. That's not a criticism of him one way or the other, mind you, I just think that he'd like TOTAL creative freedom to do literally whatever he wants in his films. Don't like a scene 30 years hence? No problem! Just digitally edit it completely and bim, bam, boom, Wookiees are now the slave race that builds the Death Star II over Kashyyk.

At this point, I don't care HOW he tinkers with the films, as long as there's a good archive copy of each of them out there. Well, each of the OT. I'm not sure I'd notice differences in the PT.

Sorry for veering, but watching ROTJ with my 5-yr old yesterday. He asked me if the ewoks were Chewie's guards. Lol!

I don't like ewoks, but the brown one next to Chewie has to be the most adorable thing I have seen! :lol

I dont know why the hashing or relenting to any possibility as to why this couldn't be original film?

And Clutch, I know what to get you for Christmas now man...

I can understand the suspicions. I do find it bizarre that Hammil doesn't remember filming it. Such an important scene I would think he would remember if it were filmed. Even he said he would have remembered it.

The first thing that I noticed was the dimple on his chin. It looks really deep compared to other shots of him.

Unless what he said in that interview clip was true, it was filmed without him, like the mechanical hand scene.

Cool anyway! I want to believe it's legitimate old footage!

Well....clearly....

Okay, boys, I emailed Rinzler about this and he said exactly: "As far as I know, it's all vintage, but I wasn't in on the blu-ray efforts." Back to square one, I guess.
