ROTJ CUT SCENE on Star Wars Blu-Ray for next year....

Are you kidding me?? You don't see Lukes face at all in the first few scenes he's in during ROTJ.

I just watched ROTJ and you can clearly see lukes face in the beginning of the film...I saw it clearly when he choked the two guards and you see it clearly when he walks into jabba's palace with jabba's helper

I'd love to finally see the Biggs Scenes all cleaned up and the HAWT Koo Stark snubbing Luke.

Agreed.

OK, Prop question -

Is the Elstree Studios Luke ROTJ "Reveal Saber" the saber in this footage?

I don't know what to make of it, to tell the truth. For something that the fans have been wetting their pants about for so long, I was thinking, Wow, all he did was poke the activation matrix, and ignite the lightsaber.

What made me crack up was when you could hear some guy shout, "Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" as if his life's dream had come true.

It would be funny if it was a new shot (with Mark's face digitally added to another actors face) with a MR. Well, funny to me anyway.

the lightsaber effect looks new, but the footage looks old. would make sense since the effect was probably not applied originally if it was cut

Ahhhh... here we go! Watch this clip, fast forward to 4:52 mark and watch through to the end.

Comments, please?

I don't think that there was ever a dispute that this scene wasn't suppose to be in the movie and that "some" preproduction things were completed. The biggest issue amongst the prop community is whether the Elstree Saber was ever used/real. Also that Mark Hamill told Jason Debord that he never filmed that scene. I give Mark Hamill the benefit of the doubt that he forgot about that scene. I mean I wouldn't be able to remember a 2 minute scene from a play I did 30 years ago!

No, no, it's a big conspiracy.

Mark Hamill has been paid off by Lucas to now claim he remembers the scene. The scene will be the ONLY thing added to the Blu-Ray so you have to buy it. But you will only be able to access it by swearing an oath to all thing "Lucasfilms". ;)

Well you know that it was Mark Hamill that shot JFK, made Bigfoot tracks and then jumped into Loch Ness to elude the FBI, right! :lol

Everything about the scene looks vintage to my eyes. Besides which, I really don't know what reason GL would have to lie about the authenticity of the clip. He's already proven that he will add newly-created material when he feels like it and make no bones about it in the process, so what does he have to gain by saying this deleted scene is original if, in fact, it's a recreation? To save face with a public that is going to vilify him no matter what he does? I don't think so.

Wow. First off, it's amazing to finally learn that the scene actually was filmed, and it's really cool to actually see it!

Secondly, I can't believe it took up until the fifth page of this thread for someone to mention the lightsaber prop itself! It seems obvious to me even in the grainy video that the prop he's holding is the "Magic of Myth" version with the sliding control box door, electronics in the box, and functioning lights! No extravagant "Elstree Reveal" telescoping saber... Seems like a prop mystery long suspected has now been answered.

Not all of us. I could care less about any added footage, old scenes, new scenes.

Enough already.

I like them the way they were released, anything else is jarring during the viewing because it doesn't belong.

Unless it is a significant re-edit like the Abyss or Daredevil, just forget about it.

I'm with you i wanna see the original movie i don't mind if they add all the extra scenes and stuff as extras on the disc but i'd like them to leave the movie alone.
Wont happen though we'll get a BR SE release. :(

I love it!!!!

I really don't mind seeing original footage added to the movie, I would also love to see the OT in Bluray.
