I just finished a new lightsaber, just using parts from the hardware store, and it seemed like a good excuse to show it off, as well as one I made several years ago.
The first one is made of all PVC fittings/pipe. I cut up and glued together what I needed to get a good shape and then masked and painted. Very ROTJ inspired, obviously (thin neck is definitely my preference). The pommel is also removable to reveal a quartz crystal.

The one I just finished I made with instructions from this video, with a couple small mods. I was really impressed with the look of it when it was recommended to me on YouTube. It was pretty easy to make, once I had the stuff. It has the perfect, cobbled-together-out-of-real-stuff look that OT Star Wars sabers do.

It’s made out of threaded rod, sink pipe, conduit connectors, washers, hose caps, and a sprinkler head.
I’d love to see other hardware store lightsaber builds/designs. There’s a lot of good ones on YouTube that I’ve seen, just with a cursory look after I found the one I built.
