It all depends on their work load, I suppose. They still should have been in communication considering the amount you paid.

Yeah...it really does take that long, or longer. The wait for Penman's is currently 3 months. The wait for Adventurebilts is 12 to 18 months. When you have a custom hatter the backlog soon fills up, but it is so worth the wait! Its a shame you didn't find out about John first. A great product, a great price, and I'm tellin yall, his customer service CANNOT BE BEAT!!!

it takes me about 8-12 hours ( make all my hats by hand) to make a single hat that is spread over 2 weeks ( a lot of drying time is needed). The long wait is that I have a list of orders to go though. I would assume that that they have a list of orders sitting in front of them as well.

If they make all the hats by hand ( no sewing machine, no pouncing machine ) they could have the same problem. If they don't make it by hand I think they do but could be wrong. I think its because they have a store and most of their time is taken up for dealing with walk in customers.

Thanks a lot guys.:)
Btw,they finally contact me yesterday,my hat is shipped.
They said that my head measurements makes them hard to make the hat to had similar look with the one in the movie, they dont give me opportunity to discuss it first how to measure a head when i ask about my measurements,i dont know how to do it.
But they did the best they can and assured me that its going to be well done!:thumbsup

Alright, since my costume is almost finished up, I just wanted to clear one final component up; where can I source a correct movie-style scarf? :confused

I got in contact with them and they said it would take a week to make me the hat, and they wanted 300 for a fur hat and 200 for a felt version.

Im not sure if this has been covered yet but in the 80's there was a period where people loved color changing fabric. if a person could sew some of that heat reactive fabric in specific places to their Rorschach mask it would seem to change with every breath. Giving a morphing effect like the one in the movie.

How much interest would there be in accurate gloves? I'm going to be doing a couple of new styles of gloves, and could easily whip up a prototype if there is enough interest. The price would be $70 (shipped).

Kind regards,
Magnoli

I could be interested. I have a pair of black leather gloves, but they're not very accurate (and they're old).
