RomanProps: STEEL IS REAL V2

Dammit...

I just got done talking myself out of buying the SH and now this comes up...

Guess I'll have to talk myself out of this one too...

...or do I...?

Sean
OMG! That's so funny... I can't even tell you how many times I had an SH "Real Hero" in my cart and never could bring myself to pull the trigger. Now that this is coming it's a total NO BRAINER for me

STEEL!!!! Lol

Which is inaccurate to the V2, right?
Yes, although honestly, to me the spacing between the rings is the more important detail. Even when I'm looking for it I struggle to see the difference between the rings, where the spacing between them is much more obvious

Roman has taken many liberties to this build. Check out his cone knob, and his v2 is steel.

The real one is aluminum

His main intention for this project was BEEF, he wanted a hefty V2.

I can’t wait to see someone do a rat rod version of it, weather it with vinegar and salt, get this thing super rusty

Halliwax is correct. My main intention was a HEAVY V2.

Honestly, I've wanted to make a V2 for YEARS, but Dan & Aaron already made great versions so I passed on that hilt for a long time.
But now... EVERYONE is making the V2... and I've been pretty disappointed lately about missing my opportunity... so I decided to just go for it, but still wanted my V2 to stand out... so... STEEL was my best option!!

I am trying to come out of the gate with a highly accurate V2, but as Danny already said I've taken liberties. One thing is a female knurl on the thumbscrew. It's hard to actually tell if the real one has a male knurl, but considering what the real knob is... and some versions are female knurl... I just went with that.

Yes, the rings are even, with uneven spacing. However, it just takes a bit of removed paint here and there to cause that "illusion". They may be even, they may not be. My eyes see them as even mostly... every once in a while I see them as uneven. So... I went with even. Which reminds me, I'd like to thank Rudy Spirit of ob1 as he and I discussed the same "illusion" when he was making his V3. And I applied the same "theory" we discussed to this V2. The spacing is very similar to his V3, but more pronounced. I also used his V3 pommel as inspiration with a tweak here and there.

There's not much else to add really. I'm shooting for accurate, but have taken liberties starting with the STEEL.

I'll just let the page 1 pictures do the talking for now, and will post more pics once the pommel is finished. :)

Pommel pics pommel pics!! Can’t wait for pommel pics!!

Yea the rings have always been in question but after tons of theories and conversations back and forth, finaly I was able to have great quality pics of the v3 from all angles and after putting them together in 3d it was more of uneven spacing... chipping of the paint gave the illusion as u make a complete rotation of the rings.. imo....

Rudy, will the shape ways crystal chamber upgrade parts still work with this v2 chamber?

Well I for one have my collection as much more of a "theme" oriented and I've gone back and forth so many times between which Luke makes the most sense to me.

I've had and held so many now and always felt something was missing? Hero hilts, v2, v3, (great job by the way Rudy) v4 made by just about every different maker I can think of and a Luke is a MUST in my collection (for obvious reasons) but I've chosen a long time ago to only have "1" of every person's hilt so you can see my conundrum with chosing and settling on the perfect Luke...

What was always missing for me was THE WEIGHT!!! STEEL BABY!!! I will easily sacrifice some minutiae in detail for a Roman Props Steel with a Rudy Pando CC OMG I seriously cannot wait for this! For the first time in years,,, I have no doubt, no reservations, no regrets whatsoever in this model for my Luke

The "only" one thing that would make this 110% instead 100% for me is it would be really cool to also have v3 parts with this as well just a "suggestion"

Even on my AS V2, which I *know* has uneven rings, I have to literally pull out the calipers to see. The difference is like, half a millimeter? I can't reliably pick out which rings are the thicker ones just by eye, especially with the paint on

Exactly! Whereas mine which I know are even... if stare at the page 1 picture long enough I start to see some rings thicker than others... lol! o_O
