Halliwax is correct. My main intention was a HEAVY V2.
Honestly, I've wanted to make a V2 for YEARS, but Dan & Aaron already made great versions so I passed on that hilt for a long time.
But now... EVERYONE is making the V2... and I've been pretty disappointed lately about missing my opportunity... so I decided to just go for it, but still wanted my V2 to stand out... so... STEEL was my best option!!
I am trying to come out of the gate with a highly accurate V2, but as Danny already said I've taken liberties. One thing is a female knurl on the thumbscrew. It's hard to actually tell if the real one has a male knurl, but considering what the real knob is... and some versions are female knurl... I just went with that.
Yes, the rings are even, with uneven spacing. However, it just takes a bit of removed paint here and there to cause that "illusion". They may be even, they may not be. My eyes see them as even mostly... every once in a while I see them as uneven. So... I went with even. Which reminds me, I'd like to thank Rudy
Spirit of ob1 as he and I discussed the same "illusion" when he was making his V3. And I applied the same "theory" we discussed to this V2. The spacing is very similar to his V3, but more pronounced. I also used his V3 pommel as inspiration with a tweak here and there.
There's not much else to add really. I'm shooting for accurate, but have taken liberties starting with the STEEL.
I'll just let the page 1 pictures do the talking for now, and will post more pics once the pommel is finished.
