Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

They couldn't have any new vehicles in the OT, it takes years for trial/error, production, and then training all the troopers to master the techniques and features. Just like our world, we see concepts of new tech that reads "coming in 6-8 years" even then not every single person has the newest tech the same week it releases

I have no problem with a ROTJ walker, I was just saying if there was no need to create a retro design of that, then why do it to the AT-AT?

It's just a variant. We've already seen another version similar to a McQuarrie design on Rebels. For example, let's use a M1 Abrams platform. It's a main battle tank, but also has a mine clearing/assault and breaching version, engineer/recovery vehicle, bridge layer, etc.

Women do powerful things they are Mary Sues. Men do powerful things...they kick ass. SMH. And the guy who said the TIE Striker obstructs visibilty to the pilot, I guess he's never seen a regular TIE fighter....they've been around since 1977.

The regular TIE Fighter obstruct pilot's view as much or more than those do The Strikers do fold up..
my thoughts as well but more on that new Tie fighter. The wings are clearly blocking the pilots view. Just lower them down, add a wing to the top
and call it what it is...a Tie Phantom V38.

The Rebels depictions of the AT-AT and Star Destroyer and Stormtrooper and TIE Fighter have been stated to be artistic license, not indicative of a different appearance to the live-action elements. On the other hand, the AT-DP seen in Rebels is a new design, and may or may not exactly look like that if built physically. As for design... It has a front-to-back cockpit seating arrangement, where the AT-ST has side-by-side. Also, the AT-ST is more heavily armed. One could surmise either one was developed earlier, or that they were developed in parallel for different mission profiles. From the Wiki, the AT-DP is intended for lower-risk environments -- policing occupied worlds and such -- while the AT-ST is primarily intended as a force-recon walker for active combat zones or high-risk locations.

As for differences between the ESB one and the one seen in R1 and ROTJ, that could just be a cold-weather optimized variant. ;)

I'm not particularly digging the new vehicles, just as I wasn't for FA. They're already using a ROTJ-era scout walker (instead of the spindlier ESB version), so they might as well have used AT-ATs as we know them. And the U-Wing is okay, but if you're going to use X-Wing engines and a canopy that looks like it's for a one or two-person ship, don't scale it up ten times and expect it to read big. We "know" how big a ship with X-Wing engines is---it just makes the U-Wing confusing.

Who's to say that both aren't in service at the same time? It's far from unbelievable as it happens in real life, new vehicles and equipment aren't replaced all at once, it takes time to build things so everything gets replaced over time. In the case of the AT-ST, maybe Vader's fleet wasn't scheduled to get the Jedi version until the next time they hit their home base. It's not like they'd be recalled back home from their patrol/search just to get new AT-STs, nor would it be a useful use of time and resources to ship them out to him, esp. given that his fleet probably moves around a lot trying to find the Rebels and is naturally far from any Imperial depots/bases where he could stop off at or expect a shipment of new AT-STs sent to him.

As for the U-Wing, I'll grant you that, the scale does seem to be off. But then again, we haven't really seen very much of it in action with people around it for scale either.

"Did you know that wasn't me?" LOL!

And if that hat was an Asian dude you wouldn't have said a word. Give me a break.

Also a Mary Sue would have seen the droid and not fired (cuz she's so great) instead of shooting one of her own team.

Damn you Landis for starting this horse-sh#t
