Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

OK, I NEEDS me a K-250! Please, please, PLEASE be on display at Celebration Europe in July!

My excitement for this film just went up a notch.

Got to say, given the number of lame TIE variants out there, I'm not hating the Rogue One version...

Heck, maybe they could have vehicles that aren't destroyers, tie fighters, shuttles and walkers?

What about falcon-sized war ships?

Or Dreadnaughts? Or how about the old Assault Gunboats?

And Z-95 Headhunters for the Rebels!
(Sorry, I miss the old X-Wing games...)

The new TIE works as a bridge between the ROTS Jedi fighter and TIEs. I'm not sure about the U-wing thingy. I hope it's a one off "ugly" otherwise the kitbash look of it seems kinda lazy. I LIKE it, it's just lazy, unless its being cobbled together has an explanation.

Some of the TIEs in the pic above are gawdawful :lol

Or an updated republic gunship. That thing makes more sense than any star wars design out there. Certainly more sense than that Lander used by the First Order

They have 2 medium sized cruiser class ships (one of which isn't even wedged shaped) in Rebels along with a carrier.

There's 9 or 10 in there that are fan designs unless they are from that awful Sony MP game.

I like the stuff in this movie so far. It's like the Rogue One designers actually tried compared to the half*** designs (minus X-Wing and Star Destroyer) in TFA.

Frankly, the TIE Striker and U-wing would've made more sense in TFA than RO... I'm not in love with either designs but they're okay I guess. The latter looks like they somewhat awkwardly rearranged and mated X-wing and Y-wing components together. Maybe that's the idea? Besides the lame name, the Striker is better but I guess both craft were all wiped out in the events of RO and never seen again? I don't know what the U-wing is good for but the Striker certainly seems like it would've been more effective taking out Yavin's X-wings and Y-wings (a few days after the events of RO?) than the boring ol' plain-jane TIE fighters... I would've kinda bought that it was a predecessor to the interceptor except it's apparently faster...which is a pretty important trait for an interception craft. So I don't know what logic is behind that.

Well for the OT movies, it'd be the TIE fighter, TIE X1 prototype, TIE bomber, TIE shuttle and TIE interceptor. In the PT, I don't think there were any? The Infiltrator and Jedi interceptor were both Sienar designs but not TIEs, I think.

EDIT: No, the Jedi interceptor is apparently from Kuat, for all the sense that makes.

There were a good few in production that voiced negative opinions on final designs for TFA ships and costumes. Most of that was directed at the I Trooper and Hans pirate transport.

With R1 Im stumped at the main cast costume design. Much of it looks overly done as if its a rushed Halloween costume and overly propped. I know they were going for the OT Bounty Hunters look and feel but missed by an entire galaxy ending up looking more like Battle Beyond the Stars than Star Wars. Forest Whitaker's costume is horrid.

I'm enjoying what I see. Can't win everyone over. I was a little annoyed over the Stormtrooper changes but hey life's too short and I'm in this for fun. :)

That grand admiral (or whatever) is carrying a rather TFA-looking pistol...and that ain't good. What happened to good 'ol Mer Sonn?
