Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

I thought I saw in another thread that someone posted it wasn't just a simple photoshop of Stan's face on Hamill's head but it was one of those images where the 2 are blended together so you are only seeing parts of Stan's face in that image - not a complete transfer of just his features with Hamill's hair.

That is correct. It is a combination of the faces, not just Stan's face. The graphic is a ridiculous bit of misinformation.

I'll just put this here, quite off topic but interesting nevertheless:

EDIT: I don't think that's real. The top two photos are near identical. The chin line, mouth and nose appear to be exactly the same. Even the mole on the left cheek is in the same place. The lower LFT image is DEF MH. But the lower RT is the same as the upper LFT. At least I think it is :)

what I love the most, when a art book is released from the movie. so I can't wait for the visual dictionary for Rogue One, its going be like a porno mag with hot sexy props

The Shoretrooper is cool, but is he like for storming beaches? I really like the idea of a combat cargo transport AT-AT variant. I wonder if those yellow panels are panels or if it's a single cargo module that fits in there?

Yeah I wondered that too. I almost think it might be some sort of yellow cargo container we're seeing although that doesn't seem too protected. I definitely like "shoretrooper" better than "scarab trooper" but man, that's a pretty specific specialization. Lol! They are outfitted to fight on...shores? What would that entail exactly, I wonder? Geared to disembark underwater and walk ashore? Lol!

I really like the look of that poster though. Certainly better than the posters for TFA.

As someone previously stated, shoretrooper could refer to the particular kit a trooper is equipped with for a particular mission, not the trooper himself (herself?). As such, I think it's pretty cool. These guys should not be running around inside the Death star in this equipment unless in training, though.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. Maybe there will be a "Navy SEAL" type scene where they slowly emerge from the water and walk ashore. Maybe as close as we've gotten to the EU Seatroopers?

Maybe they drop in from underneath the new Walker, as it comes along the coast?

Its more likely the Walkers come out of the ocean towards the beach, the orange panels extend outward from the main body and the Shore troopers drop out from there, rather than directly under the feet of the AT-ACT.

Well yeah, I realize that but I wonder what that kit would include?

On a guess, there are things involved with negotiating sandy terrain effectively. Moreso, sandy terrain mixed with water. I'm hoping there are some sort of terrain-specific boots, like an evolved version of the Galactic Marine/Light Infantry boots in ROTS, as the latter were using them on the beaches of Kashyyyk, and the Shoretroopers seem to be an evolution of that variant, more than anything. There's a big question, for me, of whether they're for storming an enemy-held beach, or repelling an enemy from an Imperial-held beach, or both. Because the Empire has spaceships, ya know. Why would they need to traverse/emerge from water to assault a position? This isn't World War II, after all. :p

I'm still bummed the "Death Troopers" aren't Imperial Commandos. *sigh* Depressively curious as to what makes them unique and distinctive.

And the Imperial dude with the cape -- before Disney got those pages pulled because the text wasn't final yet, we got some possibly-valid details. If it's correct, he's a/the "Director of the Imperial Military". That sounds a lot like what the EU's Grand Admirals were. But he's got the wrong uniform for that. I keep worrying that the folks in charge are either 1) changing things from what was in the EU for pure change's sake (the new landing craft instead of the various assault shuttles we've gotten in games and the Clone Wars and such, for instance), or 2) getting things wrong while thinking they're right (like when Archivists sent the Pre-Pro 3 Boba helmet to Master Replicas, and refused to accept that it wasn't the ESB Hero, even when the tells were pointed out). If he's a Grand Admiral (by any other name), he should be in all white -- not black pants and cap. If he's supposed to be in the same organization as the "ISB agents" from ANH, the jacket should be off-white and cut differently. I have no problem with new things and troop types being added, but this sort of conflicts with the precedent of the existing films: Imperial Starfleet, monochrome (stengrau); Imperial Stormtrooper garrison uniform, monochrome (black). There were people who were not explicitly part of the actual military-military who had the colored-jacket-and-black-pants-and-cap pattern, but we don't know for sure what they were. The "ISB agents" had sufficient clout to be in that briefing with Tarkin, Motti, and Vader, and the guy in the light-gray jacket had clearance to be on the overbridge to report to Tarkin or Morri, but no cues beyond that and their rank badges. So.
