Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

I would much rather see an Obi standalone film instead of a Han film. It's not that I don't want a Han film, but I have some serious doubts that someone can play Solo like Ford WAS Solo. We already know Ewan makes for a good Obi, so I'm pretty comfortable with that.

I agree with you 100% It will DEF be tough to fill HF shoes. I can't even imagine the actor who would be up for such a part. But Ewan did a wonderful job as Obi Wan. I have no doubt that, if we're blessed with a HS stand alone movie, the powers that be will find someone that we all feel comfortable with. More importantly, we get to see more Millennium Falcon.

Fingers crossed, right? ;)

9 months till release... Ok they don't want to damage the ep7 Dvs sales... So no trailer...

Can they at least give us some more official pictures?

I want to see Alan 2-dyk's droid lol.

I got to hang out with Alan for a few hous a couple of years ago. Such a great guy. Soo naturally funny. I don't think his full range of sense of humor has ever been showcased fully.

I really hope his character is awesome and well received by the audience.

You know I have thought about this a lot and even read some of the new comics that came out, but I have to say I just really don't like the idea that Obi Wan became some sort of crusader in between III and IV. I mean he had been a soldier as well as a Jedi. He had seen what happened with all of the mistakes that had been made by the Jedi and everyone else. He has one mission and that is to protect Luke until the time is right. This is one thing I think they are over stepping their bounds on and one thing that I think III got right to help set up IV.

Totally agree. I personally thought Ewan was just okay, not great, and I don't really get the desire to make a movie about Obi-wan in this period. Why is it so hard to grasp the concept that he just didn't do that much in those intervening years? Meditate, keep an eye on Luke, go to Anchorhead to get groceries every now and then...I just don't see him going on any grand adventures worthy of a movie, especially given the events of the PT. Of course, with that said, I agree with Josh that I'd rather see an Obi-wan movie than a Han Solo movie if I HAD to choose one or the other...Personally, I think they should both be left alone and LFL explore totally new characters like Kathy said they were going to.

....well when I was a kid & playing with my Star Wars figures,....in 78,....everyone fought to be Han Solo,...the stories that could be imagined????

Nobody wanted to be Ben

Jedi are dull,.....sarcastic reluctant heroes are where its at

I do agree with this.

But that is because he was just an old man back then. The prequels and the clone wars gave us obi wan the swash buckler.

He's easily my favorite character

This statue really captured my imagination... Wish I had picked it up.

And I think a movie will happen. It seemed like Pinewood Studios WAS trying to put together an all vintage parts Obi saber...

One word for an Obi-Wan film -- Yojimbo. They've already set up in Kenobi and MSW #s 7 & 15 a Ben who tries not to get involved, but his sense of justice and Jedi drive to protect the innocent keeps pulling him back into the mix.
