Robocop Reboot (Pre-release)

You can tell a lot from the line delivery and cinematography showcased in a trailer. The only time I was dead wrong about my impression from a trailer was Hellboy 2. The trailers were very good. Other than that, I can't recall a single instance where I came close to being wrong. This Robocop reboot looks like a lazy turd meant for television.

They couldn't do the same movie because Iron Man already copied the original Robocop - and yes, I know the basis for Robo was Iron Man, but Marvel stole so many moments that belonged solely to Robocop - even the ending "Nice shooting, son what's your name?" Robo answers "Murphy". Too close to "I am Iron Man." a proclamation of acceptance.

That "I am Iron Man" ending was the lamest damned thing and it ties into the the craptacular Civil War storyline marvel did where suddenly super heroes thought it a good idea to admit who they were. Then again they've also forgotten that Tony had a ton of hidden demons with his alcoholism being the most obvious.

No it was ironman, its stated in the commentary. When the guy robs the liquor store he grabs and ironman comic and throws it on the counter and ask for the money in the safe. That was a nob to the influence of ironman for the idea.

And yet i recall that robocop the character was based on Judge dredd and ROM (which is also the comic the robber took, not iron man), while the whole idea started from blade runner.

I recently watched a documentary where the creator said he was influenced by Blade Runner. Where in Blade Runner there are robots trying to be more human, he thought it would be interesting to have a human who becomes a robot.

The egg is a symbol of resurrection. Horus is a bird. Birds come from eggs. So Robocop is just a remake of eggs.

Hard to remain optimistic after that.

Still the get feeling its more like "6 Million Dollar Man" than RoboCop. Why didn't they just make that?
