:thumbsup That was an awesome game.....you know what, I just figured it out. Something about this has seem really familiar...and it hit me...he looks like the character from the old arcade game E-Swat:

And future Robocop should be pretty agile. We're talking about present day criminals, not 80's style neo-punk's with huge mohawks.
Today's criminals are no smarter than they were in the 80's.![]()
As far as the robotic motion - it was probably more of a necessity rather than a plot device really - big bulky 80s tech - had to be a real bear to move in. Also - big bulky robots were a sign of the times in the 80s - makes sense that the reboot would have him be more agile. Changing tech for changing times. Big bulky robot is NOT a 2012 thing.
In theory, you're definitely right. But if you look at animatronic tech today, there's still a stiff, swinging robotic motion to, um, robots. So I would guess if someone actually made a real Robocop tomorrow, he would still move like the 80's version, especially if it was heavy and armored up to withstand gunfire and assault.
We'll have to see some video before we can actually determine anything though.
I'm going to predict that if the first vids show Robocop running, the internet will explode from a universal "F____ NOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Wikipedia says the movie takes place in 2028.
All is forgiven then. I mean c'mon, flying cars are only 3 years away right? :lol
Wasn't Peter Weller talking about having RoboCop move more fluidly before he saw the suit, and had to change everything because of it?
