Hey all,
I just want to let you know, this steveboski current coat chest size is 50".5 although he submitted chest size 41.5".(body).
So, we added 10" room, that gives you baggy look.
I would expect they all should have a more baggy fit to match the source material. It is after all an overcoat meant to be worn over a sport coat.Just curious when people ordered is there anyone on here that ordered that ordered the more baggy fit?
So they will all have this added 10 inch dimension... Based on the sized chart I assumed I was around a size large which is what I typically wear (sometimes a medium fits - it just depends). However I wear a size 42 -43 in a suit coat and the chest size in your size chart indicates a large to have a 48 inch measurement. That's only an added 6 inches... so which will it be? Or is it based on sizing up the exact measurements of the suit jacket I sent to provide room?I think 10 inches room gives you a good baggy look.
We have long weekend here as I'll get back to work I'll take a new images with a person who has 40-42 chest size.
Then we can understand how coat looks like.

I just want to let you know, how coat/ jacket size works.I would expect they all should have a more baggy fit to match the source material. It is after all an overcoat meant to be worn over a sport coat.
At least I hope that's the case...
I don't completely understand - But I trust you. You're the expert.I just want to let you know, how coat/ jacket size works.
As much as big chest size so armhole would be half of chest size, and bicep depends on armhole size.
this is the whole construction formula.
10 inches room won't work on bigger sizes, like if anyone has 50" chest size then we have to add more than 10 inches.
We have to see separatly each case/ coat size.
I hope this will help you better understand.
Tahnks.
There multiples (which is pretty standard) and from what I can tell, at least two that are slightly different in their construction.Just adding a bit of levity to the thread. Not adding anything to the current conversation but just something new to notice for those of us eagerly awaiting our new coats.
I found this picture of Ford with his stunt performer. Jameel Ur and others were correct that there were at least two coats made for the film.

True, there are few versions( although I said two versions).
There are different details on them like, back plated vent and without, front pockets placement change, collar tab change and collar size very in those version.
However, we are doing our this final version.
Pocket placment would be changed as per coat size.
