akitzman: I'm still waiting on my fabric and using a different line and type of dye, so I can only guess. However, dyeing is one of my things, so. For the tunic, if yours looks too dark you can either wash it in really hot water and hope for a bleed, or use RIT color remover. The color remover will either lighten it or take the dye out entirely. If it gets too light, just put it back in a dyebath but use a mixture that is either a bit more dilute than before, or for less time.
For the the pants, if you've gone too purple that was probably from the grey dye (I've had that issue with RIT dye). Your only options are to remove the dye as described above, or to try to overdye with a contrasting color. Sometimes the taupe will do it, you'll need to aim in the orange/yellow family. The only problem is that it could tweak the color too far that way or just turn a strange brown. I'd suggest dye tests for this if you have any fabric left over from your main piece or from altering your pants. If you are altering and haven't cut anything off yet, just steal a couple square inches from a hem.
For the couple people who asked about the silk on the pants, it's ordered but I'm still waiting for it to come in, I'll post pics once it's dyed and distressed. I'm still trying to settle 100% on the color for her pants since they actually look, to me, like a really faded army green. I've ordered a few green and grey dyes and I have a few browns, so I'll do a few tests before dyeing the whole piece. Any thoughts on this? Pantone IDs would be best, and if I come up with a good dye blend to match I'll share the ratio here (though they'll be specific to the brand of acid dyes I ordered, it'll be a good start for other dyes).
As for the rest, I just ordered a pre-painted blaster (as I can't weather things to save my life). It was a get-well gift from my parents, who noticed me sadly mooning over the boots and props I can't afford because of the medical bills. Bad reason to get one, but I'm still over the moon about it. I just hope it's ready and in before PAX.
Lastly, my cork leather came in! It had to ship from Portugal so I expected it to take ages, but it didn't. Now I can start work on my own boots. I still need to find some memory foam to make more comfy inserts and a cheap pair of shoes to destroy for a sole, but I can do the bulk of the work while I wait to be able to get those.
