RESEARCH: X-WING CONTROL STICK

What's this that looks like a white base under two buttons?

Do you think a hole punch round would be too small?
In any event, I think that looks great so far!

I had that same thought after I saw how big they are. These are 1/4 inch, I have found 1/8 inch ones too, but I think those might be too small.

I'm sorry, didn't mean to make you repeat yourself. I've been on there and in the sale page I only see a scope casting, trooper boots, and a hengstler counter. I didn't see it in the supplies section either, with the handwheels, MP40, squeegee etc. nor in the prequel section (I tried just in case) and I think I'm completely overlooking a part of that site somehow :D

Edit: once I found the manufacturer i used the product code from an RPF post to find them, and I did (digikey, radwell, newark) pricier than I expected!

looks really good!

I think you're looking in the wrong spot, I did the same thing. MicroSwitch Button - Red from PoSW

Store envy huh, completely new site to me, thank you!

The ones I got appear to be paired for a specific use with another color. There are silver brackets beneath them too

For some reason I feel like that the Control stick is actually upside down! I think maybe the silver button is covering up where/how it was actually mounted.... I also noticed no natural switch locations that might normally be on a control stick! I use to operate heavy equipment back in the day...looks like a joystick from a bobcat-bull dozier you get the idea!

Yeah, I had similar thoughts about the silver disk. I have been looking at vintage motorcycle master cylinders and pneumatic tools, but no luck yet. I really want to find some other reference photos of this prop because it could possibly answer a lot of questions if we could see things from another angle.

His hand is covering up the area that would answer some important questions...is it (2) seperate parts connected or 1 original stick?

I found more of those flat metal discs on other parts of X wing cockpits. (behind the actor here, and possibly in front)
Looks like there are flat versions, and cone shaped discs.

Notice also:
Vickers lamp up front
2 Tomtit cylinders, one with the endcap still attached, from the comlink
Graflite Black Military 3 cell flash on the dashboard

More greeblies on the front-view set

Same stuff, an extra of these (possibly Michell) discs, and another part of the Hawker Tomtit kit on the sidewall.

Now..
Targeting Computers utilized yellow pushbutton switches, and more camera light sensors. Not the one on the joystick. I've seen these other ones in my searches though, and passed them up because they're not on the joystick. Haven't seen the cube one though. Also, see a Vader Chestbox Coin Slot on Targeting Computer #2. Found part?

You can tell when the shot is flipped because the targeting computer swaps to Luke's right side instead of his left

Targeting Computer #2 - This one is not on a bracket/cable set up... it's a machined arm, like a rejected R2-D2 arm.
(see the Counter Box in the background? Sticker makes it a different part I guess.. set dressing!)

Still no joystick reference. Ours looks like it has a ribbed handle. Other one's I've seen are these from ESB Snowspeeders

I'm testing a theory here. I started counting the lenses, and I see a 3 x 6 sensor on the targeting computer there. 4 x 5 on the control pad. I picked up a zeiss ikon model camera that I think matches my new idea. It's, like everything in SW it seems, an alternate version of a specific model.

Zeiss Ikon Contessa

my vintage honeywell switches are a size too small! *facepalm

Headed to the posw site.

I'm not a hundred percent positive, but I believe there's also a large Kalimar knob on top of the targeting computers. The big film advance knob.

I could swear in one shot, I also saw the black bezel that screws into the knob.

I've always seen a 4x5 lens on the control pad, and length wise it looks to me to barely reach the next button. Much smaller than the permamatic. I found one I thought would work,

but it was a bust

Slightly Too short but waaaaay too thin. Bummer. I'm thinking movie camera instead?

The Kodak Automatic 8 has 4x6, for example. No clue if it's thick enough!
