He has a better, and BRIGHTER blade upgrade for them. Your son will be more happy with this blade then the MRs old one...

How easy are those to replace? I bought a used Luke ESB but it has a dark spot so wouldn't mind an upgrade. Thanks

im kind of curious how thhe Ultrasabers ones work, does the little unit just plug into whats there or is soldering required?

Ultrasabers completely modifies the standard FX saber by removing the blade and installs either a 3 or 5 watt Luxeon bulb in the hilt. A thick walled polycarbonate blade (with rolled fiberoptic film) is then added and secured firmly to the hilt with a single set screw. That's it. When the switch is activated, the entire blade lights up. Sound is left completley intact. The only difference is that the blade won't chase up and down like it did before upon activation and deactivation.

I believe the modification cost to an existing FX saber is about $80. You send in your saber, they modify it and send it back.

The Darth Vader and Darth Maul Ultrasabers are used in the Jedi Training Academy show at Disneyland.

Here'a a quick video I found on YouTube that shows the sabers used during the 4:45 pm show...

The sabers in the show take a lot of hits throughout the day and since the show opened last October, the only damage to the blades has been to the end caps. A few have popped off a few times but that's all. A little cyano and they're good as new.
