Looking great there bro! Maybe this is already the plan but I'd say just focus on the Spider (which is lookin real nice) and the red portions for the weekend and leave the blue parts for after. Take your time with it so you make sure you're not rushing through it. It's definitely detail work.
What time of paint did you use for the shoes? They came out nice! I used a heat activated vinyl compound. I was mostly experimenting with different things but ended up using that and a mix of acrylic with a clear coat to top it all off.

I wouldn't worry about it not looking perfect. the way I see it you're doing the actual work of peter parker so it's a realistically made suit and would have its flaws. where did you find the asics?

looks great so far! a few questions:
1. How does the costume have three zippers? Aren't there usually two running pit to hip that end up meeting in the back?
2. Does your costume have the zipper on the mask? If it does, does this zipper allow you to reveal your face and take a break once in a while?

Right, quite a few questions, I will try to answer as best I can.
@ Dozer, that's high praise indeed my friend, I'm not sure it's warranted. McL34N did most of the hard work getting the design so accurate.
Yup, I'm going at it in sections. The bare patches are signs of me getting bored and leaving it for a while. Also because it's already sewn I have to leave some sections to dry before going onto others otherwise my hand would rub on them and make a total mess.
@ El Fett, thanks for the advice, think I'll go with that plan. I ended up going for acrylic paints. The red is a custom mix and is actually a lot darker than the pictures show, due to the flash I guess. I will also put a clear coat ontop, same as you.

Believe me, most people there won't even be able to tell the difference. They will just be blown away by the outfit as a whole. The red will make it pop in the pictures, giving it that light bounce effect. People will flip out at how cool you look!
Make sure you use a matte finish for the shoes! They look great! I made mine based on your method. I'm glad I didn't go a bigger size. I could've actually gone smaller after it was all said and done.

Simply mind blowing! I'm REALLY nervous about applying the puff paint to my print. I've been practicing but find myself like an epileptic man doing open heart surgery Do you use the applicator tip that's part of the bottle or have you made your own?

Don't worry mate I was exactly the same. I was practising on paper and an old t-shirt and i was having a terrible time. For some reason though the paint seems to go onto the lycra quite easily compared to other materials.
So I've had quite a few PM's with people asking me to sell them suits or masks. Just to clarify I Do not make these suits, I'm just doing the paint work on my own that I bought. The lycra suit itself is made by McL34N.
For those who are looking for commissions on the puff paint work sorry but at the moment I'm not interested in taking anything on. I may consider in the future painting masks, only masks. If I do look out for a thread on the junkyard.

The suit looks so good once the puff paint has been applied, really brings out the colours, the picture of the mask you posted is insanely good! Must be a nightmare applying the paint to an assembled suit too, keep it up dude!

thanks for the info! what are you using for the clear coat? i'm working on the shoes myself following your explanation. I'm just using the sole and have finished painting, but i want to make sure the paint lasts.

On the blue sections you also use a back puff paint. If you look at movie pics you'll see the honey comb is black on the blue parts, the blue just shows through.
Undecided on the clear coat. Think I've got some humbrol clear coat hanging around which you airbrush on.
In other news I'm quite disappointed atm. I could'nt resist so I got suited up this evening to get a good idea what it'll look like. Problem is I look more 'doughy' round my middle than I thought I would. :facepalm
I wanted to post a pic but I'm hesitant now. I'm not large by any means but this costume shows up everything.

Old costumers trick: Duct tape your middle section like a corset if all else fails.
I just started doing 75 crunches a night, hopefully Ill have my 6 pack back by October
