I haven't even purchased a print yet, but half the fun is looking at all these threads and seeing the various ways people use different materials to get the movie look. Love how your costume came out, Redtogausa. Not sure if I would want to "weather" mine when I get it, but it helps to see how it looks with that effect. Amazing work!

Hi, I'm new here and am hoping to get one of these suits myself. I was just wondering if anybody could tell me how many tubes of 4oz puff paint are needed to completely do the red and how many for the black?
Thanks in advance

Re: Redtogusas Amazing Spiderman Costume using McL34Ns pattern.

Reflectiveness is good man (see pics below). Yep, finally finished the front and the back, now onto the arms, legs and fingers then we're almost done.

You are very correct my friend, it wasn't tailored to me, apart from the zips. It's got a good amount of stretch.

Thanks for sorting that out. :thumbsup I know nothing about Spanish.

Right so got some small updates. As I said the chest and back is done. It's not perfect by any means so be kind:

Also made a small start on the right arm:

I decided to use the puff paint to do the leather patches on the palms. You can't see them very well in the picture but IMO it came out really well. The uneveness of the paint gave it the leathery look it needed. Gonna put a row of stitching round the edges of them later to make it look more like they were sewn on.

Finally got some shots of the finished leneses on the mask. I've decided to stick with the matt frames as I like them and.......really I can't be bothered to repaint them. :lol :behave

The lenses have been stuck on with hot glue, looks a bit messy, this is temporary.

When you take a pic with the flash on the lenses come out looking dark, just like some of the night time shots in the movie:

In the above shots I was wearing a homemade face shell. I know some said I didn't need one but I noticed after wearing the mask for a while my mouth shape started to show through.
The face shell was made using one of these from Ebay:

(Disney TASM mask and gloves)

I used a bunch of body filler/bondo on it and then smoothed it off so the raised webs wouldn't show through.
These are dirt cheap and a great alternative to a proper face shell.

cheers guys.

would you recommend putting the puff paint on before getting it to a seamstress or putting it on after the seamstress puts it together?
