Red Skull costume progess (new hi res pics pg 8)

Re: Red Skull costume progess

@Chad do you think the material would hold up if I was to mod and add the ribbed detail by the shoulders?

Not sure I follow ya bro, but I know what look you want.
I too am brainstorming how to get those ribs on the shoulders.
I since the leather detail work is a separate piece than the jacket, I was gonna maybe shape some abs, plastic, or something...and slide it in between the coat and that leather detail piece.

Re: Red Skull costume progess

Did ya tell Shannon you talked to me?
I'm still emailing with her...I sent her my hydra logo so they can improve their patches. I also sent her pics of me in the mask.

I simply asked her to leave the shoulder patches off and keep the belt patch detachable...in case the ones I get from bimmer and crew don't come in time.

I'm hoping to hit the movie premiere, but we'll see.

Do you think the material will tear easily is what I mean? Cause what you are thinking is what I was thinking.

Looks very cool Chad! Mask is awesome

Thanks Keith! I hope to troop with you someday!

Ahh...mention you're with me - we've had so many candid conversations, she practically knows what I am thinking :lol

Nope - this stuff won't rip just by adding that detail. Some strips of old arcade machine black T-Molding in layers might look cool.

Re: Red Skull costume progess

Make-up day!
Whoa...I think it is a big change...def have to red out the eye area.

I have to mount the shoulder straps somehow. In my final pic there, you can see how the right shoulder strap moved closer to my neck..the left strap is still lined up to the edge of the left shoulder.
I think I am going to sew snaps in there somehow...

e'nuff talk - pics!

Re: Red Skull costume progess

Made another video acting silly.
Still trying to figure out character.
He's so intelligent, he probably has too many thoughts at once...acts a bit crazy, irrational....or, he's dumb as heck and I just like being a zombie lol

Re: Red Skull costume progess

So kicking sweet. I am still piecing my SS version but this still will be a must. I wonder if he wears a cap in the movie and we just haven't seen it yet.

Re: Red Skull costume progess

OH MAN it looks great with the makeup and the mask! what a perfect fit .. my little doberman head would not stand a chance in a mask like that lol great job awesome costume! i really love it

Re: Red Skull costume progess

Just when I thought the video was awesome, you uploaded these latest pics. I'm nothing short of stunned! Best fanmade Red Skull we'll ever see, IMO :p

Re: Red Skull costume progess

That looks seriously amazing! The makeup blends really well. And if you think of the cost of the makeup as including the time the ladies at the store spent on finding the right stuff to use, I'd say the money was worth it.

Just thought I'd throw up a comparison with a pic I just found from the bad 1990 Captain America movie:

Makes that old version look like a bag of a**holes! They should have called him Mr. Tomato Head! Of course, your costume probably has more time and money into it that that one!

Re: Red Skull costume progess

I did get to experiment with the laser engraving last night.
It went really well, once my friend figured out photoshop and how to use his own machine :lol (2hrs)
Wow, the etching is so clean..
After burning up some lexan sheets (oops) he had some bonafide acrylic that we ended up using.
Took my logo and etched a 2.5"x3.5" buckle since that size matched the belt which was made for my suit.

I am committed on Bimmer's buckle run, so this is until that one becomes fruitful.

A little shaping, painting, weathering...

Yea, now that it's all said and done with the make-up; you're right. :thumbsup
I was in defense mode with the Mrs. about the $45 :angel

Interesting pic - I had seen that before (the pic, not the movie)...interesting that still into the 90's, the Swastika was being used...for some reason, I was thinking that the symbol had been pretty much abandoned for sensitivity reasons. It's so powerful and evil, that it would just really top this suit off - to have armbands with it rather than Hydra shoulder patches.

Re: Red Skull costume progess

Hmmm..I just found an old thread here about re-shaping resin.
I think I am gonna mold that buckle this weekend and pour some resin copies; then bend it a bit like a belt buckle shape.

Re: Red Skull costume progess

Cant believe how well this turned out and what you got for the price. That should look awesome at the film opening.
