Real or Fake Graflex?

I can buy a fake Rolex that says Rolex on it, but that doesn't make it a Rolex. Some people...

This statement is so true and obvious that anyone bidding on a watch would assume that everyone know this. If I was bidding on a rolex, which was listed as a rolex, I would not contact the seller and ask "when you said it's a rolex, did you mean it was made in China but has the word rolex written on it" because such a question would be stupid. No one would equate a real rolex with a knock off and no one would assume that a watch listed as a rolex was a knock off because we all know the difference. This guy's is ridiculous. I'm sure the people at paypal and eBay will see through his bs.

Same goes for Apple accessories. The fakes are getting better and better - but listing something as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) when it's not is likely to cause trouble.

Since, the top half has much more bells and whistles, such as the bunny ears, brass pins, and glass eye. This would make you think that a top half would be worth at least 60-80% of the price, depending on the condition.

People like these make me sick.

This is bordering on ridiculous...I told him no to the $60 offer, and he has not responded since I declined. Today is the day where I can bring ebay in to help mediate, and I get to school and have this email waiting for me:

HAHAHAHA really? Really?? Even when he offered me 60 dollars he sent it only as a message, not this type of offer thing at all. So $40 minus ~10 for shipping is 30 dollars. 30 out of 300 is 10 percent, not even his outrageous "well you got 70-75% of what you wanted" I immediately declined and sent the case to ebay. This guy is insane. Hopefully ebay does the right thing, and quickly at that. I just want this to be resolved already.

Good for you man!

Stick it to him ANY way you can!

I remember seeing this auction on ebay too. What a loser. He knew exactly what he was doing.

I was almost almost scammed from a member on here and I thought I was out $400 plus an 8 foot Indy bullhip so I know how you feel!

But good for you, I hope you get all of your money back!

Keep us posted!

Thanks guys. This morning I received another email from ebay..this time from ebay itself. It is almost like it is an automated email, if it isn't, the person didn't even read through the case, just put it through as a return and emailed me a prepaid tracking number. I even said in the first message of the case that I did not want to return it to the seller. The guy won't even get reprimanded about running two scams, he will get off scot-free and will even have the item in his possession to do it again! I have bought a lot of stuff from ebay, never had a negative transaction with ebay or a seller, but this one has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Where is their customer support? Their idea of customer support is to let the buyer and seller hash it out for 5 days, and then after five days they give you a magical (probably automated) button and when you press it, it goes " **** it, here's a shipping label, send it back, we don't want to pay salaries of a bunch of customer service employees to really help people out so we have this entirely automated, computerized customer service"
How am i supposed to give into my anger, and let my hatred destroy him, if they don't even give me the means to do so.

Again ebay, I DIDN'T WANT A RETURN

Unfortunately this is how ebay does business. You're right, this guy will get it back and be free to try his scheme again.

If that guy isn't a member here, he's at least reading this thread.

Also, I say don't send it back to him. Break it up and sell it yourself. Use accurate descriptions and I bet you'll at least make your money back if not more.

Just got off the phone with ebay, essentially the only way I can get anything at all is if I mail him back the whole thing. I explained the entire situation to them, they transferred me to another department, I explained it again and they told me that if I'm not returning it for a full refund and since I can't work anything out with the seller, there is absolutely nothing they can do for me. Clearly I'm not going to return it to the seller, and I told them about what he's pulling and that he has done this before and all they said was "well we are going to watch him in the future, he has the case against him showing that he lost" so basically he is free to do it again and has no visible mark on his account saying that he is doing what he is doing. Whether I ship it back to him or I keep it, he wins. He wants me to ship it back so I'll disappoint him on that front, but he has still made money off it and wont be punished in any way.
I kept all the terms simple when talking to ebay, saying he bought a replica item and a real one and sold both at the real price without adequate information in the description and they said nothing to be of any help. They continually said that the only way they can help me is by returning the full item, other than that they have no power to do anything else. I had bought a relatively cheap and complete 2 cell too upon recommendations from another user, so I have a complete graflex for the total price they are now going for, but I'm still extremely disappointed with ebay. I understand their rationale and everything, but to offer me no other help, and no reprimand to the seller is not the way to run their business. Its almost like the people I spoke to had no power or information in their possesion. All they asked for was my name, didn't need to spell it or anything and they continued. The automated prompts had referenced my phone number and asked for a zip code, and it told me that they didn't have enough information but will continue anyway.

The best thing for you to do, once you decide if you are keeping it or not, is to forget about this MF and don't waste another second's thought on him. He's already wasted a lot of your time and emotions. It all totally sucks, but it's probably time to cut your losses and just move forward. Unfortunately there will always be people like this out there in the world, and the less time you spend allowing them to affect any aspect of you or your life, the better.

Don't send it back ... leave a negative feedback and a short note, to warn of other future buyers, ... one word : 'ebay-G R A F L E X/Lightsaber-scammer' :)

Chaim

P.S. To bad you can't get in touch with the previous buyer ... otherwise you could have worked it out between yourselfs, as I said before ... even for a replica G R A F L E X is a huge demand nowadays :wacko

I was JUST going to say that!

Look at the brightside..

You have a hybrid Parks/Real graflex. A REALLY good piece!

There are many on here who are on the hunt for ANYTHING!

...Cough...

Yeah at this point I would do the negative feedback. Right down to mentioning his harassing and mocking personal messages at his ripping you off.

Keep the saber, the back end is stupid rare right now with the number of 2 cells being bought up.

If it annoys you to see it, cuz of all the BS that came with it, You could just resell it (split up).

Of course if you "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree" it and saber it up, making it a shadow of it's former self.

Since you have purchased a 2cell top recently ... can we see the real vintage parts G R A F L E X saber as exhibit A . . . anytime soon and indeed ... forget this scammer and move along ... sell the Park's top in the Junkyard :)

Chaim

There is another 2 cell up on the bay that looks suspicious at first glance.

Seems to have a different finish on the top than on the bottom.

I could be wrong and it could just be the lighting, but everyone beware and always ask questions before buying!

Did you get the eBay money back guarantee with the purchase?

It's not a Graflex so the seller is wrong in his description.
