Rambo First Blood Props

That's what I do for a living. I'm a custom picture framer and I specialize in framing odd objects. Obviously I frame all of my movie props and whatnot.
You can do it yourself. Find a suitable frame of sufficient depth for the object. Then cut foamcore strips to keep the glass up off the object.
Or you could even have a local plastics company make you a 5 sided plexiglas box. (Perspex I think you call it). And then make a base for it.

Thanks for the advice guys, the steering wheel is 20" x 20" and 5" deep, so the perspex case has got to be a bit bigger than that. Ive mounted quite a number of my own stuff, but its finding a cheap perspex case that sort of size might be a bit more of a challange, but hey, "never say never". ;-)

Very nice! Its rare to find props from this film!

Your so right, I dont know why. I know the Deputy jacket used in the movie that I have, was only on hire, and was reused in TV shows too. I would like to know what happened to Stallone's costumes.

Great work Raven, just watched your clips on youtube and checked out your site.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

It's cool seeing all these classic set props again, The First Blood was Stallone's best, it's great seeing Hope, BC as the town. (( Just across the Straight of Georgia from me )) That place pretty much looks exact same as it did in the movie, especially towards the end of the year. I've driven through there and it always seems to have that overcast/gloomy gray sky above, just like the movie. Filmed right at the "Gateway to the Interior", gotta love that BC Weather haha. I'm glad to see these props are in good hands :D Thanks for posting these great pics! \m/

No worries.

I just finished my Sheriff costume, the over jacket was actually worn by one of the actors in the movie, the rest however, are just copies. :)

it's just amazing !
thanks for sharing.

Do you allow us to set up a special report for our french website which is dealing with props ?

joe maddalena, CEO of prohiles in history, a well know memorabilia auction company, is to set up a free appreasal of props in august first. You should show him your stuff so he can estimate its value ??

Guys, just got back from Hope BC for the 2nd time. I attended the First Blood 30th Anniversary event, which was held over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. I had a great time, and picked up a couple more remnants of props shown in the movie.

Sorry for the poor quality photo.

Did you have to obtain permission to take those or how is your able to acquire them?

Serious question and not intended as anything but legit question.

Dumped and discarded on public land many many years ago. Like finding an old Coke can on the side of the road. :)

Is it technically theft by finding.....who knows? If there is an injured party, and they can justify to a law court that they intended to reclaim those items some 30 odd years later, and that there is a reasonable value to them, then there might be a case. If so, I'd better pack my case and hot foot it to Mexico while I still can. :)

Raven1973, you are building one amazing display of what is possibly the best action film ever made! All I have is a UC copy of the knife. Your trip must have been surreal, knowing this is where it actually happened all those years ago and how the only change has been extra growth of the trees and shrubs.

I have the BD of all four films and want the film JOHN RAMBO as I understand it has all the deleted scenes restored.

There was a "TV version" of FIRST BLOOD shown back in the 1980s that had some scenes not seen in the theatrical version. These scenes included Rambo removing the magazine from the rifle to show the three bullets, and extended dialogue sequence with the police in the gorge discussing what they would do when they caught him and an explanation of why Rambo hides in the stream. I guess they had chopped so much of the film up for this version, the extra scenes were needed just to make up the 90min running time. Has anyone else seen these or know if they are on video anywhere?

Funny you should say that, as a great guy called Kevin who I got to know from this forum told me that he had recorded the film off Canadian TV back in 83. I asked if I could borrow his old VHS tape if he could find it, as it had been stored away in his garage for years...well Kevin was a great sport and sent me his tape. I then sent it to my buddy Herve Attia so he could transfer and edit it, so we could share it with those fans who have never seen the footage. So here it is buddy, sit back and fill ya boots. :)

Another good friend of mine Scott Hardy, of Scott Hardy's First Blood Filming Locations who is a dedicated FB fan also supplied some very rare pictures that Herve put on at the end of the video.

Raven1973, yes those are the scenes, thanks for that. WOW 1983? A long time ago...

I don't know your thoughts on this, but I personally think those scenes add more to the story than they subtract and I would like to see a fully restored version of the film with all that included - kind of what they did with RAMBO and the special ed JOHN RAMBO.

Only thing is, the magazine check was supposed to replace the sewing scene and I'd rather the see Rambo sew himself up and don't know it if would be possible to have both in the same cut of the film.

Apparently the original cut was 3 hrs long, and was then trimmed down to 90 odd minutes.

I think the additional scenes are like pure gold, but they were right to cut them out. It would slow the film down, and some of the lines are almost cringeworthy. Like The scene with trautman saying "He's been in a lot worse places than this" and the scene in the gorge where Crawford says "Well I'm ready when you are" and Shingleton shakes his head, that's straight out of the TV series Days Of Our Lives lol :)
