Pure Pwnage - Redboard Keyboard Model

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone can help me find the model of the following keyboard:

It's from the show Internet show "Pure Pwnage" and used by the character "Redboard," funny enough. I definitely recognise the keyboard (it's probably from the '80s, maybe '90s), but I don't know the model.

Thanks in advance.

That's the one, thanks a bunch. Actually I just got a response from the guy who plays Redboard saying the same thing, so you're spot on.

My work just pitched about 30 of those last month.

I work for Qualcomm (The Technology company, not the stadium)

We had the interns go through the old storage room and clean out anything so outdated or broken and we had boxes of these.

Gorram it! If only I were quicker. This keyboard has been on my mind for a while.

You should be able to find these one ebay or at a good computer shop that sells used stuff. My friend won't use any other keyboard but these. You can even find new old stock ones. Search for 'clicky' keyboards.

Yeah, I had a quick look on eBay. They were roughly $10 each, which I thought was reasonable, but the postage ranges from $40 to $60, so I'm trying to look for one locally.

Look no further. We're spring cleaning here at work and I was about to throw away this exact model. Shoot me a PM we'll work it out.:thumbsup

EDIT:

Forgot to mention its a Key Tronic unit.

Oh no! I just realized mine must be a late model as it has windows buttons at the bottom where the spaces should be. Let me know if youre still interested.

other than the color, what is so special about this keyboard that some use it and only it for their computer needs?

Apparently it's quite a reliable keyboard. I used to use one years ago.

I won't be using mine very often, though. I'd still like it to be functional. I'll just have it on display most of the time though, I suppose.

If anyone's interested, here's the episode of Pure Pwnage that features Jeremy vs. Redboard (16:00) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=5BshgpzqNUU.

:lol It'd make more sense if you watched previous episodes, I can understand if it seems a little weird.

It's a show about gaming, where they use the physical manifestation of "micro" (keyboard/mouse/controller skills, etc.) in real life battles and such, and sometimes they use the tools themselves, like keyboards and mice. It might seem odd, but it's popular with gamers across the world, I think they have over six million fans now.

The Key Tronic keyboards we have at work look exactly like this. Cheap pieces of crap, but that's a good thing for prop replica makers!

I'll have to see if we have any extras when I get to the office next time. I'm reasonably sure Key Tronic made millions of them to cash in on IBM fans who missed the "clicky" keys.

Just had a look in the old PC storage room at my college, I saw a lot of ancient keyboards, and a lot were similar to this keyboard, but I found nothing exact.

This is a really odd keyboard. I can't find anything that is absolutely exactly like it. I've only found that rectangle indent in the top right corner on one keyboard, which is this one: http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/pckeyboards_1996_1223637

Although that one is mighty close, it doesn't have those little ridges around the LED panel.
