Pulse Rifle 3d print Files, SPAS cage/Remington/clam shell shroud, racking etc,,

Had some fun tackling the Remington trigger today, no joy with it so far.
Found a few springs from another older project, first I attached it to a bent servo arm, then to a bit of spring wire. What have you wrapped your spring around Sean, is it a paper clip?
It had me headscratching for a bit so I left it and will attack with a fresh head tomorrow.

I have found an old soldering iron bit that I can chop to bits for some of the pins for this trigger mechanism, I’ve rifled my toolbox and spare parts boxes but still no joy for one tiny ballbearing!

Here are some more pics. I didn't have the selectors installed when I was fitting the shroud so those wouldn't be in the way. The back strap I think will actually be ok after some sanding of things. I clamped the halves together and with some "finessing" I was able to get that closer. I also did have to do a small bit of clearancing on the mag well halves to fit and close up around the trigger guard but that is sorted so no issues with them. :)

I kinda figured the lower receiver should be sitting in the notches in the shroud, and with the lower receiver on it's own it will fit. When I add the upper is when things get a lot snug. I can fit the stock in to the point in the pics but that is it. That can be worked no problem with some sanding so that will probably be ok I think for fitting in the shroud, but as far as the shroud itself fitting over the receiver I think will still be some hickups.
If I thin out the inside of the shroud or sand down the rail on the upper receiver so it fits the notches, there won't be enough room left between it and the shroud to fit the stock.

I would honestly use two elastic bands mate instead of a spring and an elastic band.. also make sure you clean up the trigger and the hammer well where they meet, the key is to get the trigger tensioned/pulled forward realll well that’s what keeps the hammer ******..

I can’t work out what’s gone wrong?, the stock should slide in and out freely straight off the print bed?, I’ve built well over 8 and not come across having to sand the shroud or the stock..the Thompson frame/receiver and stock should easily slide into the shroud from the back if you were to close the clam shell and the only error is the notch for the safety lever but even then the shroud closes pretty easily. I even bolt the two halves together flush for shipping and still no problems...

Lol no problem [emoji4] thanks. I will do more playing around with things and see if I can work out what happened. Just wanted to check that I wasn't missing something obvious and all. I do that sometimes when I just dive into new projects while having too many other projects in the works [emoji16]

Please let me know when you work things out, I’ve looked over your previous pics with a fine toothcomb( even my wife was trying to work it out lol) and I can’t spot what’s gone wrong, in the new pics the stock looks a little thicker on width overall but that could be the photo itself?.. also try gluing the shroud together whole first to give it a teeny weeny bit of flex over the internal parts and insert the mag before you clamp the clamshell also you need to file the top of the mag to allow it to be inserted with the shroud closed. There is an update on one set of shroud files to allow for the mag release on the Thompson but I’m sure I only put both sets of files up really early on?..Cheers Sean.

Will do. The lower shroud parts I have do have a space for the mag release to fit. The stock may just be the picture. It fits nice on the receiver and is flush with the bump out on both sides. I actually already had the plan to modify the magazine a bit on the top :) and I will be making it longer as well to actually lock to the catch.

Great minds think alike I’ve done the same thing with the magazine..I will put the files up when I’ve tested it.

M40_Detonator.STL and 70 more files Fresh link includes upgrades/caseless ammo, for 3 colour ammo stop print at 18.7mm for white/21.6-22.7 for red and back to white to finish, for big barrel grenade insertion print the shell/detonator/cap at 85% and use a magnet in the Remington bolt front and the grenade rear for retraction...link expires in a week. cheers Sean.

The Soldering bit looks perfect for the Thompson Safety and Rocker switches:

I’ve sanded the top of the magazines so they’ll fit straight into the Shroud:

I’ve also cut my barrel to size, don’t think I have any Acid Etch Primer so will need to add that to my paint shopping list.

Excellent, thank you Sean!

Finally cracked the Thompson trigger mechanism a few nights ago, safety working as it should. Just waiting for the longer spring for the bolt and then I'll put up the progress.

All but the internal trigger parts now filler primed, a few more standings then it'll be time for the base layer.

Loving this project Sean, once again, thank you so much for all your work on this.
I'm back to work on Wednesday which is most inconvenient!
