Heck I've been discussing connections between the 2 films for 10+ years.
Replicants are nothing new in the Blade Runner universe in 2019, while the Weyland's TED video which takes places few years after 2019 have the humanoid robots as some new breakthrough.
You're right, there is a difference between the two and they can expand on it if needed. Not that I want them to expand anymore on it but there is a difference between Replicants and Synthetics so they could go further with it if they wanted to and it could be plausible.
I figured everyone talked about connections between these two movies.
Aren't these screens used in Alien and Blade Runner?

I've always wanted a screen saver or wallpaper of those. lol
So only the DVD, Digital Copy, Blu-Ray, and Blu-Ray 3D set will have the deleted scenes and extras, correct?
Is any place going to have a special pack-in or anything?
We did.. it was in Alien.Heck I've been discussing connections between the 2 films for 10+ years.
I really like this design for an egg chamber. Maybe we'll get to see it in a film someday.

I think they really missed out by not showing that side of the Engineers. The final film showed them as nothing more than vicious bad guys, but that scene with the Engineer in the pod would have showed a scientist's curiosity, and a hint of cultural depth in appreciation of the human music.. that they're more than just monsters. I really hope they explore this more in the sequel. The Engineers deserve better than to be just plain evil.I know the linked articles make a point that there probably isn't much material that can fill in the plot holes, but there is material that can make character actions come off as less moronic! One scene in particular is the engineer being distracted by the girl playing the violin. I thought that was a clever way of showing how all the scientists missed the point of the flute earlier on and if they used music when awakening the engineer, maybe it wouldn't have gotten angry with them.
